8-31-17 Rest in God

I saw this post on Face Book today. I usually don't post things from FB but I feel that these words are written by a person who has walked down the path and is speaking from her heart. I fully understand her feelings.

Satan slaps you
across the face
and you take it!
Satan whispers lies
into your ears 
and you listen.
He feeds you
poisonous thoughts
and you get
lost in them.
He drips
temptation
on your lips
and you taste it.
His words
so seductive,
you're unable to see
the source
of your despair.
Appeasing your
worldly hunger,
while destroying
everything around you.
He blind folds you
and leads you to darkness.
You fall to the floor
trying to find the light.
Tear the blind fold off,
blackness all around.
You realize, you've followed
the wrong voice!
With one call
out to the Lord,
the war is on!
He descends
from Heaven
and goes to
where you are.
He brings the
mightiest of Angels
to stand guard
all around you.
God wraps his arms
around your body,
mind and soul.
Satan can't get through,
so he tries harder.
God holds you tighter!
Satan uses all of the
forces of darkness
BUT God won't let go.
Satan gives up
and walks away, for now.
God stays while you
lay your head,
against his heart.
He wants you to rest.
He won't let go....
