7-31-23 How Close is the Rapture of the Church?

How Close is the Rapture of the Church? - Britt Gillette - http://www.end-times-bible-prophecy.com/how-close-is-the-rapture-of-the-church.html How close is the rapture of the church? I think we can get a good idea based on recent surveys of self-identified Christians in the United States. Recently, The Christian Post reported, "Over a third of senior pastors believe 'good people' can earn their way to heaven." This was the conclusion of a survey conducted by the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University. The survey polled around 1,000 Christian pastors, examining dozens of beliefs they hold, and found only 37% hold a biblical worldview. The survey found 39% believe "each individual must determine their own truth," 38% do not believe "human life is sacred," and 37% believe "having faith, in general, is more important than in what - or more specifically, Whom - one has faith." Assuming this is true, it should come

7-31-23 The Number Nine in Scripture and History

The Number Nine in Scripture and History :: By Randy Nettles Published on: October 18, 2022 by Admin10 Category:General Articles The number 9 represents finality and/or judgment in the Bible, especially where Israel is concerned. It is a remarkable number in many respects. It is the last of the single-digit numbers in the decimal system and thus marks the end, and is significant of the conclusion of a matter. “Nine is akin to the number 6, six being the sum of its factors (3 x 3 = 9, and 3 +3 = 6), and is thus significant of the end of man, and the summation of all man’s works. Nine is, therefore, the number of the finality of judgment, for judgment is committed unto Jesus as the Son of man (John 27; Acts 17:31). It marks the completeness, the end and issue of all things as to man – the judgment of man and all his works. It is a factor of 666, which is 9 times 74. The sum of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet is 4,995 (5 x 999). It is stamped, therefore, with the numbers of grace a

7-31-23 Biblical Audio Commentary: Laughed Them to Scorn

Biblical Audio Commentary: Laughed Them to Scorn :: By Gary W. Ritter Published on: October 18, 2022 by Admin10 Category:General Articles Imagine, if you will, that a Godly man became President of the United States. I know, I know, this is such a far-fetched fantasy that it’s impossible even to conceive. What are the odds – right? But humor me. So, a true follower of Jesus Christ makes his way into the Oval Office. Maybe he’d been a compromise vice-presidential pick that had been chosen to pull votes from a conservative state like Florida or Texas (that is, before Texas was overrun by California liberals fleeing their self-made hellhole). In our pretend world, the president dies and our Christian VP ascends to the position of Commander-in-Chief. Let’s give him a name, say, Hezekiah. Upon assuming the reins of power, President Hezekiah does what he’s always done: he begins moving the chess pieces in his administration so as to honor the Lord. He replaces the Chief-of-Staff and all t

7-31-23 Volitional Disqualification

Volitional Disqualification :: By Edwin Tan Published on: October 18, 2022 by Admin10 Category:General Articles “For many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14). For a long time, I struggled to come to terms with the true meaning of the above-mentioned verse from the Gospel of Matthew. Did it seem like a tough selection protocol amidst a plethora of criteria that weeded out the majority from a long line of aspirants? Substantial head scratching all through the years until only recently when everything started to make sense. Let’s just begin with the altar calls way back some forty or even fifty years ago. There was then no shortage of teenagers and young adults vacating the pews as they walked up to accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour. All this took place in an era where the Counsel of God was given serious consideration by the pulpits. There was undoubtedly a noteworthy transformation in the lives of these youthful individuals. The question is – did it stand against the t

7-30-23 Hebrews Study: Our Anchor for the Soul

Hebrews Study: Our Anchor for the Soul :: By Sean Gooding Published on: October 18, 2022 by Admin10 Category:General Articles, Sean Gooding Hebrews 6:13-20 “For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, 14 saying, ‘Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.’ 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. 16 For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute. 17 Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, 18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. 19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, 20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, hav

7-30-23 Absent from the Body and Present with the Lord

Absent from the Body and Present with the Lord :: By Candy Austin Published on: October 18, 2022 by Admin10 Category:General Articles In a changing world where people are becoming more and more unfriendly, unkind, and just plain downright rude, it is pretty rare to find a person who will leave mainly positive impressions and memories behind. Throughout my lifetime, only about a dozen or so people have left such a fond imprint, which is why I would like to introduce this ‘special someone’ today. Proverbs 31:28-30 “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.” Out of all of the Pastor’s Wives I have ever met and/or known, there is one that stands out to me, hands down, above them all. For this piece, we will call this exceptional lady ‘Mrs. Gem.’ As an impressionable 12-year-old at a sm

7-30-23 Rapture: In the Meantime…

Rapture: In the Meantime… :: By Lisa Heaton Published on: October 18, 2022 by Admin10 Category:General Articles We’re waiting. We’re looking up. Is that all we need to be doing in the meantime, that period of time while we are all awaiting the rapture? Hardly. We have much to do–in the meantime. We have a lost world to reach and a sleeping body of believers to wake. More importantly, we have our own hearts to examine and prepare for the Lord. It’s easy for us to focus on the externals, telling what’s going on, watching video after video, and reading article after article. Sadly, however, many of us don’t take the time to consider this: We will each be meeting the Lord face to face soon, hopefully very soon. I don’t want to find disappointment in His eyes over how I’ve finished the race. I want to know that I’ve left it all out on the field, given all I have to give for the kingdom’s sake. I also want to ensure I’ve spent just as much time with Him in prayer and the study of Scripture

7-30-23 The Ripple Effect of Our Choices

Daily Devotion: The Ripple Effect of Our Choices - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org For they hated knowledge and chose not to fear the Lord. —Proverbs 1:29 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/the-ripple-effect-of-our-choices/ - Listen Every day we make choices ranging from what to wear to what to eat. But what we wear or what we eat are not the most important choices in life, though some of our choices will have implications on our waistlines. On the other hand, some choices we make are very important, even life-changing, such as what career to pursue or what person to marry. But the most important choice of all is whether you will follow Jesus Christ. That will impact not only your life on earth but your life in eternity as well. In the Bible we find the stories of people who made good choices and bad ones. Moses chose to help his fellow Hebrews rather than enjoy the riches and power of Egypt. Joseph chose to resist the advances of Potiphar’s wife. Daniel chose

7-29-23 Using the Bible to justify evil

Daily Jot: Using the Bible to justify evil – Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Virginia Democratic state Delegate Elizabeth Guzman told local ABC 7 News on October 13 that she planned to introduce a bill to make it a felony if parents do not affirm their child’s sexual orientation or gender identity. And she is using the Bible to justify her position. In response to a question about whether her legislation infringes on free speech or religious freedom, Guzman twisted the words of the Bible, saying, “The Bible says to accept everyone for who they are. So that's what I tell them when they asked me that question, and that's what I will continue to tell people.” Guzman apparently is referring to Christ’s teaching in Matthew 7 on “Judge not lest you be judged.” Guzman continued: “You know, we all have a commitment to God. And for those believers out there, we know that there's life after life, and there is going to be a conversation between that person and God and that'

7-29-23 Never Underestimate the Enemy—He Came For One Reason… To Do Us Harm

Never Underestimate the Enemy—He Came For One Reason… To Do Us Harm - By JB Hixson - https://harbingersdaily.com/never-underestimate-the-enemy-he-came-for-one-reason-to-do-us-harm/ Some years ago, we had the unfortunate experience of being burglarized at our home. It was in the middle of the night, and my family and I were all sound asleep. No one heard a thing. I inadvertently left our garage door open, and a thief soundlessly sneaked into our garage and stole the stereo from our car. He also helped himself to various other items lying around like a bicycle and some tools. Fortunately, he never ventured into the house where we were all peacefully oblivious to what the thief was doing. As I think back on that experience, I realize that the thief had one purpose in mind when he entered our garage. He wanted to steal something. He did not come over to borrow a cup of sugar. He was not there to welcome us to the neighborhood. He had not come to invite us to a block party. Nor was

7-29-23 Columbus and the Second Coming

Columbus and the Second Coming - By Hal Lindsey - https://www.hallindsey.com/ww-10-16-2022/ We just celebrated what may be one of the last Columbus Day holidays ever. Christopher Columbus was a complex man — neither a perfect hero nor a monster. No matter what you think of him personally, it is impossible for us to fully fathom his impact on world history. When he arrived in the Bahamas on October 12, 1492, two worlds collided, and neither of them would ever be the same. His voyage led to unspeakable suffering and injustice, but also to staggering levels of progress in an amazing number of human endeavors. But all that is small compared to one of his stated purposes. I’m not talking about finding a western sea passage from Europe to Asia. I’m talking about his desire to help facilitate the return of Jesus Christ. According to noted historian Carol Delaney, author of Columbus and the Quest for Jerusalem, “Everybody knows that Columbus was trying to find gold, but they don’t know

7-29-23 May Be Our Last Chance

May Be Our Last Chance - By Daymond Duck - https://www.raptureready.com/2022/10/16/may-be-our-last-chance-by-daymond-duck/ On Oct. 3, 2022, Franklin Graham wrote, “To say that much is at stake (in the Nov. 8, 2022, election) is a gross understatement. It isn’t just control of Congress; it may be our last chance to stop the immoral and ungodly policies that have brought our great nation to the moral brink of disaster.” He asked, “What happens to a nation that continues in its wicked ways with no repentance?” He responded, “Israel and Judah both went into captivity and exile.” Two days later, on Oct. 5, 2022, it was reported that Tony Perkins said in an interview with Decision Magazine that we are not only in “a battle for the soul of the nation, but it’s a battle for the children of our nation—their souls.” Perkins added, our government is locking “children into a path that leads to destruction.” We are hearing that the Nov. election may be the most important ele

7-28-23 Discouragement or Hope

Discouragement or Hope :: By Nathele Graham Published on: October 16, 2022 by Admin10 Category:General Articles, Nathele Graham, Ron & Nathele Graham Along with joy and happiness, this life can hold many trials and unhappiness. It’s up to each individual to decide what to focus on. We need to remember that all blessings come from God, but all evil comes from wicked Satanic forces. God created a world of beauty and peace filled with blessings and hope. Genesis chapter 1 isn’t an allegory or a myth. It is truth. God created everything in 6 literal days. The ultimate creation was Adam. Evolution didn’t make you the unique and special person you are. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them” (Genesis 1:27). When God saw that Adam needed a companion, He took Eve from Adam and told them to be fruitful and multiply. In this passage of Scripture, we can see that gender is not a choice and that since God created male and fem
