UNDERSTANDING THE TIMES

Understanding the Times - The Top Stories of 2006 - Jan Markell - www.olivetreeviews.org You may not read about some of these stories. They are not obscure, just overlooked and to many, not noteworthy. However, I consider them to be some of the most significant stories of 2006. Israel lost a war last summer, with Hezbollah, proving she has the worst government in her 58 year history. Mike Wallace said that Iran's Ahmadinejad is a man we can do business with and is really quite likable. The Left is deluded that such a "messianic menace" as Ahmadinejad has good traits when he wants to destroy parts of the free world including America and Israel. My home state's Sen. Keith Ellison (D-MN) is the first Muslim to get elected to high office. He will take his oath on the Koran. He is a pawn of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, an organization in America to make all Muslims look good. Christian censorship of the truth happened as Hal Lindsey and Zola Levitt Ministries

UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN

The gift that keeps on giving - Greg Laurie - www.worldnetdaily.com and www.harvest.org In my last article I wrote about the real gift of Christmas, not the ones we will find under our Christmas trees. Not Christmas PRESENTS but rather His Christmas PRESENCE. This is the gift God has given to us. It's revealed to us in Isaiah chapter 9, written some 700 years before Jesus was born, where we find vital insight into the name, purpose and work of Jesus: ''For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.'' (Isaiah 9:6) When you stop and think about it, each of these titles of Jesus deal with an important area of our lives. These are like five gifts for us to open today. Let's look at each one individually. First, His name is WONDERFUL. This takes care of the dullness out of life. The word ''wonderful'' c

THE WORLD IN 2007

The World in 2007 - Better or worse? - Dennis Prager On the eve of the year 2007, it is evident to anyone with the fortitude to see reality that the world is not getting better, nor even staying the same, but getting worse. There are a few positive developments. But they are mostly technological and medical. More people are eating better and living longer than ever before. And the Internet gives more people access to more information (and more lies) than ever before. But aside from medical and technological progress, there is little positive to report. And, as always, the technological breakthroughs are frequently morally mixed bags. Almost wherever one looks, there are more reasons for pessimism than optimism. Africa is probably in worse condition than at any time in recorded history. Though often exaggerated, great numbers of young and middle-aged people are dying from AIDS; corruption in Africa is so widespread and deeply rooted that aid workers are telling the West to stop giving f

THE NEW WORLD DISORDER

THE NEW WORLD DISORDER Analysts: Dollar collapse would result in 'amero' Think deep recession likely regardless of Fed's actions Posted: December 13, 2006 1:00 a.m. Eastern By Jerome R. Corsi © 2006 WorldNetDaily.com Two analysts who have reconstructed money supply data after the Fed stopped publishing it argue a coming dollar collapse will set the stage for creating the amero as a North American currency to replace the dollar. The reconstructed M3 data – the broadest measure of money – published on econometrician Gary Kuever's website, NowAndFutures.com, shows M3 increased at a rate of 11 percent in May, compared to 9 percent when the Federal Reserve quit publishing M3 data earlier this year. Asked why the Fed decided to stop publishing M3 data, Kuever told WND, "The Fed probably wants to hide how much liquidity is being pumped into the market, and I expect the trend to keep pumping liquidity into the market will continue, especially since the economy is slowing d

DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE?

Do You See What I See? Just Look Around By Lucian Thompson Today, many Christians are walking around blind as a bat with someone else leading them around by the arm because they are so indifferent to what is going on around them. Part of the reason is because we feel that we are well off and are in need of nothing. That my friend is the Laodicean Church. (Like in the days of Noah) Another part is because we just don’t want to be bothered with concerning ourselves with what’s happening. Too much media attention and we just tune out! Another part is, we just don’t really know if this stuff is really real, or it is certainly far off if it’s real. A lack of knowledge can kill you! Do You See What I See? You know… while I was a cop I worked a lot of auto accidents. I was always amazed at the different versions of what happened from the spectators. It seemed that none of them perceived the events the same way. Some saw it from a different position or angle than others. Even those who were s

THE MAN WHO TRIED TO STOP CHRISTMAS

The man who tried to stop Christmas - Greg Laurie - www.worldnetdaily.com - and - www.harvest.org Now that the Christmas season is in full swing, we are once again inundated with countless TV specials about familiar holiday themes. Some movies are shown again and again like "It's a Wonderful life" and "A Christmas Story." Then there are those animated specials like "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas"(one of the very few that actually mentions Jesus). There are newer movies as well like "The Grinch who Stole Christmas" and Charles Dickens' famous "A Christmas Carol." Both of those stories tell the tale of those who were antagonistic to the Christmas message: Scrooge, who was so stingy he would not let Bob Cratchet celebrate Christmas, and the Grinch, who opposed Christmas altogether. These themes resonate with us because today we live in a world full of modern-day Scrooges and Grinches, too.

IRAQ STUDY GROUP SETS STAGE FOR PROPHETIC FULFILLMENT

Prophetically Speaking —Iraq Study Group Sets Stage for Prophetic Fulfillment by Bill Wilson, KIN Senior Analyst The Iraq Study Group recommendations could very well determine America's position in the ancient prophecies about all nations turning against Israel. One of the central themes of the report was that Israel needed to make concessions with its Islamic neighbors in order to achieve peace, yet the rest of the report may undermine the United State's ability to assist Israel in reaching a balanced and fair consensus. The report gave the strong impression that the United States is failing in Iraq or, in less politically correct terms, is losing — so much so, that the recommendations suggested negotiating with Iran and Syria to help broker peace and stability in Iraq. Meantime, the recommendations had a "cut and run" theme throughout, demanding troop withdrawals. To the Islamic world, negotiations with Syria and Iran, the two nations considered by Islam as the hear

THE GENERATION OF THE MESSIAH

The Generation of the Messiah - Israel - Middle East Jack Kinsella - Omega Letter Editor - www.omegaletter.com Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Maj. Gen. Yahya Safavi now heads one of the most formidable military forces in the world, despite international sanctions designed to prevent an Iranian military buildup. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard is an entity separate and distinct from Iran's regular armed forces that is loyal and answerable only to Iran's ruling mullahs. The Revolutionary Guard was created and set up specifically to prevent a military coup by secularists against Iran's religious rulers. And under Safavi, the Revolutionary Guard has developed into a force numbering as many as TEN MILLION dedicated and fanatically religious soldiers. That's ten MILLION Iranian soldiers -- those ten million make up JUST the IRGC -- Iran also has a separate army, navy and air forces. Plus tens of thousands of religiously devoted volunteer suicide squads. In all, according t

US SETBACKS SEE DOLLAR PLUNGE TO NEAR 15-YEAR LOW

US setbacks see dollar plunge to near 15-year low By Ambrose Evans-Pritchard Last Updated: 12:41pm GMT 29/11/2006 # US woes hit Wolseley # Your view: Will the dollar hit $2 against sterling? The dollar tumbled to a near 15-year low against sterling yesterday on fresh signs of economic trouble in the United States. An 8.3pc crash in US industrial orders and an admission by the Federal Reserve chairman that Washington does not know how bad housing really is set off another day of wild gyrations on the currency markets. Ben Bernanke The Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke said Washington did not know how bad a state the American housing market was in US house prices fell 3.5pc to an average $221,000, the third month of declines. Stocks of unsold homes rose to 7.4 months' supply, the highest since 1993. The US consumer confidence index fell sharply to 102.9. The "truckers index" of tonnage shipped by US haulage companies was down 1.8pc in October, a leading indicator of c

AMERICA -STILL BLESSED BY GOD

America – still blessed by God - Hal Lindsey - www.hallindsey.com Thanksgiving tradition says that the first day of Thanksgiving was when the Pilgrims came together to give thanks to God for the bountiful harvest of 1621. The colonists, according to tradition, celebrated with a Thanksgiving feast, also attended by 91 Indians who helped them through their first year. Two years later, the colonists gathered during a severe drought to pray for rain. When it rained the very next day, Gov. William Bradford called for another day of Thanksgiving. Thereafter, there were numerous calls for national days of Thanksgiving. Following our miraculous victory in the Revolutionary War, George Washington proclaimed the first national day of Thanksgiving in 1789. It wasn't until 1863 that President Lincoln officially designated the last Thursday in November as a national day of Thanksgiving. It took almost a hundred more years before Thanksgiving was declared a national holiday by an Act of Congress

COMING ATTRACTIONS IN WORLD AFFAIRS

Coming Attractions In World Affairs - Jack Kelley - www.gracethrufaith.com Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One. "Let us break their chains," they say, "and throw off their fetters." (Psalm 2:1-3) At the prophetic level, the results of the recent US election make perfect sense. Think about it. The Bush Administration's vision for the Middle East was a string of robust democracies from Lebanon to Iraq with leaders chosen in free elections enjoying the popular support of newly prosperous citizens who after generations of oppression feel like they're finally in control of their own destinies, and who desire nothing more than to live at peace with their neighbors. You can almost taste the sense of freedom and dignity they'd all enjoy. Kind of like the US was sixty or so years ago. If President bush had been able to maintai

THE DAYS OF BABYLON ARE NOW NUMBERED

The Days of Babylon are now numbered - Jerry Golden - www.thegoldenreport.com With the election results the days of fighting against the murder of millions of unborn babies are over or the right for homosexuals to marry and call themselves families. We can now expect many Federal Liberal Judges to be appointed to further corrupt the system. Like Abraham a handful of God's called men and women have been begging America to wake up and see what has been happening to her. But like Sodom and Gomorrah America has been so consumed in its sins to hear the cry from God to repent before it was too late. With the perversion and pure filth that comes into your homes by way of TV that has polluted the minds and hearts of your children as well as the parents. Could anyone reading this tell me of one member of the ACLU who isn't a Democrat? Or is it safe to state that nearly all if not all of those in favor of Gay Marriages and abortions are Democrats. We now see that those in power in the US
