13 rockets fired from Gaza after IDF strikes balloon launcher’s vehicle 
Palestinian terror groups fired at least thirteen rockets on Israel from the Gaza Strip on Tuesday evening, according to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit. Three of the rockets fired were intercepted by the Iron Dome and at least three launching sites were spotted by the IDF in the Gaza Strip. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit confirmed that three of the rockets were fired in the direction of Sderot, Sha’ar HaNegev and Sdot Negev.
Israel boycotting 38th UN Human Rights Council session 
Israel is boycotting the 38th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, which opened in Geneva on June 18 and ends on July 7. Without any fanfare it stopped attending the daily council session last week after the United States announced that it planned to withdraw from the UNHRC. The US said it planned to give up its seat as one of 47 UNHRC voting members and it would stop attending council sessions.
Knesset bill to stop Palestinian terrorist payments moves forward 
The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee voted Wednesday to advance a bill aimed at stopping the Palestinian Authority from giving terrorists and their families 1.2 billion shekels a year in monthly stipends, despite an attempt by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to water down the bill. The legislation is now expected to pass into law next Monday.
Senior Polish official says country will amend controversial Holocaust law 
The Polish government will amend a controversial law dealing with the Holocaust so that it will not be a crime subject to prosecution to say that the Polish nation or people were responsible for Holocaust-related crimes, a spokesman for the Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Wednesday.
U.S. Army purchases TROPHY active defense system in $193 million deal 
The US Army awarded a contract worth $193 million for Israel’s TROPHY active defense system to shield its Abrams tanks “in support of immediate operational requirements,” Rafael Advanced Defense Systems has announced. Designed to detect and neutralize incoming projectiles, the Trophy system has four radar antennas and fire-control radars to track incoming threats such as anti-tank-guided-missiles (ATGMs), and rocket propelled grenades.
Palestinian Authority rejects Israeli, U.S. ideas to help Gaza 
The Palestinian Authority on Tuesday expressed fear that the talk about easing restrictions on the Gaza Strip was part of an Israeli-Palestinian “conspiracy” to transform the Palestinian cause into a “humanitarian issue.” The PA, which has been imposing its own financial sanctions on the Gaza Strip, also expressed fear that the easing of restrictions would embolden Hamas and tighten its grip over the coastal enclave.
Syria war: Government forces launch assault on divided southern city Deraa
Syria’s army has launched an assault on rebel-held areas of the divided city of Deraa, after making significant gains elsewhere in the country’s south-west. State media said troops had stepped up their bombardment ahead of an operation to take the road linking Deraa with the nearby Jordanian border. Earlier, they cut in half a strip of rebel-held territory running north from the city by capturing two key towns.
Papua New Guinea polio outbreak declared
An outbreak of polio has been confirmed in Papua New Guinea, 18 years after the country was declared free of the disease. The World Health Organization (WHO) says the virus was detected in a six-year-old boy in April. The same strain of the virus has now been detected in other healthy children in the same community, making it officially an outbreak.
US military aims for $1B missile defense radar in Hawaii
The U.S. military wants to install missile defense radar in Hawaii to identify any ballistic missiles that are fired from North Korea or elsewhere, officials said Tuesday.
