Deputy AG Rosenstein offers to resign after comments to secretly wear wire and tape Trump revealed
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has reportedly given verbal notice that he would resign from his job, supposedly in anticipation of being fired by President Trump, after it was revealed last week that he allegedly discussed secretly wire-taping conversations with the President and possibly invoking the 25th Amendment. Axios first reported Monday that Rosenstein “verbally resigned to Chief of Staff John Kelly in anticipation of being fired by President Trump, according to a source with direct knowledge.” And, “per a second source with direct knowledge: ‘He’s expecting to be fired,’ so he plans to step down,” Axios reported.

On Saturday, the Human Rights Campaign, the country’s top gay rights lobby, held its 22nd annual dinner. Top speakers included Joe Biden, who bemoaned the lack of acceptance for gay people, Anne Hathaway, who shrieked, “Let’s tear this world apart and build a better one”, and Obama’s Attorney General, Eric Holder, who declared, “The age of bullies and bigots is not fully behind us”. Holder would know. He was last seen posing with Louis Farrakhan at Aretha Franklin’s funeral. The leader of the Nation of Islam is both a bigot and a bully. He also loathes gay people.
Did Russia Just Declare Electronic War on Israel?
In the wake of one of their planes being shot down by Syrian missiles during an Israeli airstrike, Russia announced that within the next two weeks, they will be supplying Syria with the advanced S-300 missile defense system. The Russian change of mind comes as a result of an incident last week when Syrian aerial defenses reacted to an Israeli missile attack and inadvertently shot down a Russian military airplane, killing all 15 people aboard.
Iran warns U.S. and Israel of revenge after deadly parade attack
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Monday accused the United States and Israel of involvement in the attack which killed 25 people at a military parade and said that Iran would “severely punish” those behind the bloodshed. The deputy head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also said that the attackers had been paid by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and that they should expect a devastating response.
Netanyahu off to New York to meet with Trump, address the U.N.
This will be the fifth time since Trump took office in January 2017 that Netanyahu will meet with the US president. They last met in Washington in March. The crisis with Russia is expected to be one of the issues Netanyahu will discuss with Trump. When the US president met Russian President Vladimir Putin in July, Syria – and Israel’s concerns about Iranian military entrenchment there – was a significant part of the conversation.
