2-25-19 It Is Written: God's Word

It Is Written: God’s Word:: by Clay Smith

Infallible, irrefutable, undeniable, immutable, holy, precious, and living. God’s Word is Absolute, without error down to the last tittle and jot (Luke 16:17). God ordained it and brought it into existence for man, being put together in book form called the Bible at just the right time. It already existed because he already existed from eternity past to eternity future. It’s settled in Heaven. Because He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. He is the I AM.
Who are we (anyone) to not believe in God our creator and his Word! That discourse is eternally dangerous with horrible consequences. Those who don’t believe in him or his Word are on the road to eternal doom. Many take this wide road; it’s easy. Those who believe in God and his Word take the narrow path which leads to Heaven.
Here are three great Scriptures from Isaiah to ponder:
Isaiah 44:6 “Thus saith the Lord the king of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God.”
Isaiah 44:8 “Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.”
Isaiah 45:6 “That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.”
God is awesome, isn’t he? He also has a sense of humor in his person and with his Word. Remember, we are created in his image. If you don’t know our God, please come to acknowledge him and know him in his Son Jesus Christ.
He is the answer to all of life, because he has the answers in his Word that he gave us through his prophets and apostles. They were being led by the Holy Spirit when they penned the words of the Bible. This is our divine manual or resource for living, because in it are the Godly principles for righteous living. He loves you so much and desires a personal relationship with you, one in which you can have joy and peace here in this temporary earthly existence, which will be continued on in Glory with him and the rest of the believers one day.
He created you so unique that there is only one of you; you mean that much to God. Read Psalms 139 and be awed. Words can’t adequately be expressed in such a way as to show how much God loves us. Imagine this if you can. The God who is bigger than the universe (analogy here) is small enough to live inside us through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Here is a corresponding Scripture:
Isaiah 66:1 “Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?”
Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, died for all mankind on the cross outside Jerusalem, Israel, almost 2,000 years ago, and walked out of the tomb alive three days later. Salvation is a free gift he offers for all; He paid the debt that you or no one else can never repay. What an amazing witness, sacrificial offering of himself, and Testament for Jesus to do!
What’s written is complete; the book is closed. No one can add or take away from God’s word.
Revelation 22:18-19 “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”
You believe all of it, not part of it. Even if we can’t understand and fully know God’s Word, we can believe in all that is written within it. God used the Holy Spirit to use the author’s individual personality, thought processes, and vocabulary to pen the words. There is no compromise.
His Word has been changed and corrupted, of course, and we can see this in how many “Bibles” there are today. Since 1611, which one is the correct one? God’s word is perfect; it’s Sealed, just like our salvation.
Let me show you scripturally what God thinks about his Word. If there is one Scripture you look up, make it this one and be in awe of its meaning:
Psalms 138:2 “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”
David here is joyfully praising God from his heart for who He is; David is ecstatic. Remember, the Holy Spirit is the one who had the words penned here from David, so this is what God wanted us to understand – how great his word is – so much so, it overrides his great name. Wow!
Jesus told the Pharisees in John 5:39, “Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life; and they are they which testify of me.”
The two primary theological points of the Scriptures are the Resurrection of Christ and his Second Coming. The greatest event that is coming upon the earth one day will be this Second Coming.
Revelation 1:7-8 “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”
The NIV commentary on Revelation 1:7-8 is awesome, which says “Jesus is the beginning of all history (the Creator) and also the goal for whom all things are made (all history is moving toward glorifying him).”
You should hear this speech that was recorded: Do you know him? That’s my King By Dr. S. M. Lockridge. It’s amazing. You can find it on YouTube at this link, and I wonder how many lives have been touched and changed because of it? Only God knows. What a Blessing!
Following are some Scriptures that contain the phrase “It is written!” His Word is so precious. Enjoy.
Psalms 119:89 “For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.”
Psalms 119:160 “Thy Word is true from the beginning.”
Proverbs 30:5 “Every Word of God is pure.”
Isaiah 66:5 “Hear the Word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his Word.”
Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?”
Ephesians 1:13 “in whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.”
Hebrews 4:12 “For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edge sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
John 17:17 “Sanctify them with through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
2 Corinthians 2:17 “For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.”
2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
1 John 5:7 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these are one.”
Revelation 19:13 “And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called the Word of God.”
I hope this is a Blessing and encouragement to you.

All Scripture is from the 1611 King James.
