10-26-17 How Strange We Truly Are

How Strange We Truly Are! :: by Don Twobears

I believe that most people want to have the necessities required for everyday life, and then just a little bit more. Now it must be understood that the extras would usually be of the comfort variety—pleasurable, happiness creating, making one feel as if there has been a step up from the status quo. It must be recognized that all humans are NOT  the loving kind that we all would like to think.
As a matter of fact, people despise life’s routines, which makes me wonder why they hate change so very much. We are acutely aware that change is the constant in our lives. Thus, one would think that we would be adept at dealing with change constantly. But NO, we seek the routine, but it must be quick and easy. I suddenly feel like a tennis ball! Back and forth and such.
Let me see here, what is the saying, “Variety is the spice of life?” We hate the four letter word “work,” yet we spend so much of our lives working. Well, that is true for most of us; there are some that make it their life’s endeavor to do as little as they can and then expect the greatest of returns, right?
As a very young boy I was taught by my parents the value of hard work. They wished to give me a good work ethic, but in the end it is still “work.” We did not start off having to WORK so hard, yet is was the sin of Adam and Eve that changed all of this.
Genesis 3:17-19  “And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
Now we know why we must work so hard for anything we get. Would it be worthy to note that “sin” is the reason for all of our misery? Thus the reason for having a “good work ethic.”
There is another reason we work; yet it has become the bane of our society—money! You have to have it, right? We need it for food and clothing, a house, to be able to purchase a car and on and on. The rationalization of money is a very long list, yet we break our backs for it, burn out our minds for it, we dream about it, covet it, and for some folks they beat, murder and kill for it. All for that paper that comes from trees and ink that comes from plants. At some point someone put the two together and said it had value.
Looking at money from this angle is strange in the least, but this is exactly what it has come to. Sadly for some, it has become their single most important factor in life, the acquisition of money. Some say it brings power and prestige, so on and so forth … it’s all an illusion my friends! You can’t buy love or happiness. Most everything that truly has any lasting value, money is NOT able to procure.
1 John 4:8 “He that loveth not, knoweth not God; for God is love.”
Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
If we are talking about the Spirit, then we must be talking about God, because that is the part of each of us; we are created in the likeness of God. So in the end, those verses … say it all. If we look closely at this phenomenon we see that the value of money comes by virtue of the precious metals attached to it—usually held in some vault somewhere. It was also given value by virtue of kings saying it had value, even when there was no backing of gold or silver or whatever valuable jewels.
Coins would have a certain amount of precious metals injected into it, that also made it of value. Here is the crux of the matter; coins or paper came from what is natural to this planet—trees, certain plants, rocks and metals that are naturally occurring. So then my question is this: If  what is natural is the origin of all money, shouldn’t it be God who states the value of it?
Here is another point: zero’s (0’s) have no intrinsic value, so if we put so many of these zero’s after certain numbers, how does this raise the value of the money? The paper and the ink have not changed, and we don’t have any sort of backing like gold or silver. Take a look at your               bills  which are “federal notes” as in promissory notes. Sounds like a LOAN, right? Better yet,             it sounds more like an “IOU.” So this is the reason to kill over money and destroy one’s family?
And  then we read in Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
For a moment, let’s think about all the things that are bad for us, that stand between God and mankind. Now where does money enter in all of this? So now is the money at fault here? No. Money is simply an inanimate object and if there is a precious metal backing it, it’s still an inanimate object as well.  It still has no value and yet the “world” as we know it, lives on it or dies. Having said that, if we removed all vestiges of money, what would be left? Bartering among ourselves, that’s all. Therefore, if money is not the treasure we believe it to be, what is? It is Jesus Christ!
Have you ever noticed that despite money or whatever—that nothing is really different? Sin is   still sin. Sin then becomes the single constant in our lives and the only thing that stands between God, you and me. If life became very basic, bartering and such in small communities would not stop sin; it would still exist and we would still be the fallen species of earth. The ONLY thing that could change that for the better is the blood of Jesus Christ on that Roman Cross.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
We already know if we are to live on this planet, each of us will have to “work.” We know from God’s Holy Word the Bible we will work by the sweat of our brow! Isn’t that enough already, the work, the toil, the sweat, the pain? Why do we think we can capitalize on the situation by including a thing like money? As if things weren’t bad enough already! Arrogance, pure and simple arrogance.
Okay, you have the Internet, smartphones, videophones, whatever. As it stands right now, we have far too many questions and too few answers. As a matter of fact, we  have no idea what is going to take place in the very next few moments … and we think we are smart? From what we have been talking about thus far, money is not what we thought it is, it surely is NOT the answer to life. So what is the answer? Once again, it is Jesus:
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
I simply have to say it again: IF you do not have the answers and you have far too many questions, then why do you not go to the Word of God and read the answers for yourself? The answers have been there longer than 4500 years; the Bible has never changed. Who do you think is in-charge?
We have a pontiff and he sure does pontificate a lot, yet he does not speak truth. We have politicians, yet they never speak the truth, either. Do you feel a little dismayed with life, so far? Obviously we don’t know how to fix a single thing, right? So why do we continue to rely on fallen mankind’s own ideas?
Okay, one more point: You know you must have air to breath, we have sent men to the moon, but they still had to take air with them. The air came from this earth, given freely by God Almighty. You breath in and then you breath out, and you do so every day and night, without it you would die. How is it then that people cannot see, or are never willing to accept that God Almighty gave us the air to breath?
Then a day comes along and HE gives us one last breath of air, and then the air stops. Man did not create the air, God did. Just like money and all things, your body and the air you need to live stay right here. And then people ask the question of whether or not there is a God.
The poor and the rich both die. We go from conception to rotting in a grave; that’s life in the physical world. How ignorant to think that’s all there is. Actually it’s blasphemy of the Lord God. We were given this life as an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and  for this you will have eternal life.
If you choose anything else other than Christ, you get what you asked for: eternal destruction with Satan and his ilk. That’s life wrapped up in a nutshell; There is also a point in time, where Jesus Christ will return and take HIS people to heaven in the Rapture. So where are you going to be, what are you going to do?
2 Corinthians 6:2 “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
