9-30-20 Daily Prayer

Daily Prayer for September 30 Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33, NIV Dear Father in heaven, in the world we are full of fear; in you we have peace. We pray that your Spirit may give us the joy of your heavenly kingdom and the strength to live in your service. Remember those who suffer pain, who still have to walk paths of fear and distress. Grant them help, to the glory of your name. May we be united in hope and in expectation of what you will give through your great goodness and faithfulness. Amen.

9-30-20 Daily Dig

Daily Dig for September 30 Victoria Reynolds Farmer At the National Gallery, I sat in front of Paul Cézanne’s The Large Bathers for several minutes, taking the painting in, trying not to think about the way my wheelchair was blocking other museum patrons. “It looks the way that moving without effort must feel,” I said. “That’s really sad and beautiful,” my husband replied. It was the first time I had ever put my love for the painting into words, and I realized that I loved it because it let effort and smoothness coexist in a way I didn’t feel I ever could.

9-30-20 Today in the Word

LISTENING FOR GOD’S CALL Wednesday, September 30, 2020 | 1 Samuel 31:1–13 September 2020 Today in the Word Daily Devotional DEATH OF A KING Although this Old Testament book gets its name from Samuel, one of its main characters, its primary focus is the contrast between Saul and David. Saul’s story unfolds like a great tragedy. His failure is foreshadowed at the outset, and all subsequent events move toward this sad conclusion. Today’s reading reveals the final chapter in Saul’s story. His life ended just as Samuel had predicted. The Philistines dishonored Saul’s body in death, fastening it to the city wall of Beth Shan as a token of their victory (v. 10). The men of Jabesh Gilead recovered the king’s body in a daring night-time raid and buried the bones beneath a Tamarisk tree. Saul’s first victory as king had been to rescue the people of Jabesh Gilead from the Ammonites (1 Sam. 11:1–11). Saul’s greatest tragedy was his lack of faith. He did not listen to the Lord and often took ma...

9-30-20 Daily Devotion

September 30, 2020 Wait Upon the Lord Psalm 40:1-3 Patience is hard work! This is especially true when we are waiting on God, who keeps to His own timetable. But believers who trust Him to deliver can look forward to rich blessing. A person’s willingness to be patient reveals the value of what he or she desires. No one goes wrong waiting for the Lord to send His best in His perfect timing. Of course, believers don’t receive everything they ask for. At times, God simply says no. Other times, He adjusts our desires to match His. In our humanness, we can’t possibly know all the details of a situation. So we ask for what we think we need, based on our limited information. A submissive heart accepts the Father’s gentle redirection. When the awaited object of desire comes, it may not look like what we originally requested, but it will be exactly what we need. Another benefit is that waiting patiently on the Lord is an awesome witness. When He responds, others see the reality of God, His f...

3-23-21 How's Your Vision?

Daily Devotion: How's Your Vision? - by Greg Laurie - www.harvest.org For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. -Proverbs 23:7 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/hows-your-vision/ - Listen Experts tell us that we have 90,000 to 100,000 thoughts every day. That's a lot, isn't it? Our thoughts are important because what we think is what we'll do. Someone wisely said, "Sow a thought, reap an act; sow an act, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny." Are you where you want to be as a Christian? I hope your answer is no because a growing believer will always see his or her need to continue to grow. And when you think you don't need to grow anymore, something isn't right. After years of walking with the Lord, the apostle Paul put it this way: "Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward-to...

9-30-20 End of the Age: A Theory

The End of the Age: A Theory - by Pete Garcia and Randy Nettles - https://www.rev310.com/2020/09/the-end-of-the-age-a-theory There are few prophecies in the Bible that are both as perplexing, and yet, irrefutable, as the coming war of Gog and Magog. This 2,500-year-old prophecy had appeared all but impossible for at least 2,000 of those 2,500 years, primarily because, Israel did not exist as a sovereign nation. Furthermore, the geopolitical confederation described in Ezekiel 38-39, has never happened before historically. However, since the turn of the 20th-century, the evolving geopolitical landscape appeared to be unfolding in such a manner that seemed to be laying an undeniable (or inescapable) foundation for this particular prophecy to come to pass. Even heads of state were wondering, albeit erroneously, if they were not in some manner, fulfilling this particular event. Gog and Magog are at work in the Middle East... The biblical prophecies are being fulfilled... This confrontat...

9-30-20 Consumed With Politics

Daily Jot: Consumed with politics - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com here are so many things happening so fast in the world that it is difficult to focus. The Senate released results of its investigation into Joe Biden using his position as Vice President to enrich himself and his family through a vast network of bribery and financial espionage in Russia, Ukraine, and China-the very things, and worse, that he and his political party were accusing President Trump of doing. Additionally, Trump has announced his Supreme Court nominee, already under extreme attack by the media and Democrats. And the Presidential Debates are upcoming. We will report on all these events, but first, to kick off the week, I want to share with you about what some people are dealing with each day. While we debate politics and corruption, there are those who are wondering when they will eat next. Over the weekend, across on the other side of the world, there are hungry children who have parents that can only tr...

9-30-20 The Coming Kingdom Part 2

The Coming Kingdom: Part 2 of 5 :: by Alice Childs Published on:  March 15, 2020  by  RRadmin7   Category: Alice Johnson Childs ,  General Articles ISRAEL, THE LAND GRANT, THE BLESSED HOPE, AND THE KINGDOM PREFACE: We hope to pique everyone’s interest through this series of articles about the coming the Millennial Kingdom. So many, even among the Remnant Church, do not understand much about the coming Kingdom Age or the fact that the Raptured Church will only be in Heaven in our resurrection/raptured new bodies for the 7 years while the Tribulation is occurring on earth. After that, we live on in the renovated earth for 1,000 years of Jesus’ kingdom before eternity begins with a new heaven and earth. Through this series, we hope to clear up any confusion and fill in any gaps we may have in our understanding of what the kingdom is and what its purpose will be. Part 1 is  The Last Gentile and The Coming Kingdom . If you’ve not already read it, it ...

9-30-20 Taking Oneself Off the Ledge

Talking Oneself off the Ledge :: By Candy Austin Published on:  March 15, 2020  by  RRadmin7   Category: General Articles Okay, this is the month where I get “sentimental.” Every year since the ‘I cannot take the toxicity anymore fallout’ with certain family members – not that I wanted to ‘get away out of rebellion’ like a prodigal, but that I ‘had to get away for my mental and emotional health’ – I find that I still want to reach out to them even though I know it is not good for me. So, for the past 14 years, even after I ‘escaped out of Egypt’ so to speak – and even though it has been a ‘therapeutic journey of healing’ from all of the toxicity (not to mention the constant mental and emotional abuse) – nevertheless I find myself still ‘holding on to that tiny glimmer of hope that all could be well.’ Yes, you read that right; wanting to reach out to the very people who have inflicted such pain and damage in my life. I still love and care about them but, sadly...

9-30-20 Only to Steal, Kill, and Destroy

Only to Steal, Kill, and Destroy :: By Gene Lawley Published on:  March 15, 2020  by  RRadmin7   Category: Gene Lawley ,  General Articles That title is the description for the scenario of all that is going on in our world today, especially here in America. The sense of that may be more prevalent because we live right with it and are not looking at the trends of social and cultural changes from afar off. Nevertheless, the whole world is pointing to a climax totally unexpected. Only in the Holy Scriptures can one find the prospects of our future, and for those who are not aligned rightly with God…it is not a pleasing sight. The title of this article comes from John 10:10, which says, “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy, but I [Jesus] am come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” The thief is the devil, and he is purposely attempting to destroy the human race in an affront to the God of the universe. The warfare has run since...
