Daily Devotion: Making Everything New - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org And he also said, ‘It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life’ —Revelation 21:6 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/making-everything-new/ - Listen Are you feeling worn out, beat up, and even old? I remember that at the age of 17, I felt like I was 70. My mother was a raging alcoholic. She had been married and divorced seven times, and I had to grow up fast. In fact, it seemed as though I was more the parent in the relationship than she was. Then I got into my own bad choices in life with drinking and drugs, and by the time I hit 17, I felt very old. I was so empty and so sad, and I was burdened with sin. Then one day on my high school campus, I heard about Jesus Christ. I heard there was a God in Heaven who loved me. So I took a step of faith that day and prayed a little prayer asking Christ to come into my life. Afterward I felt absolutely nothing, honestly. But that is the day Jesus Christ came into my life, and He satisfied the thirst in my soul that I had tried to satisfy with other things. And He will do the same for you. Here’s what the Lord says in Revelation 21: “Look, I am making everything new! . . . I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life” (verses 5–6 NLT). Are you spiritually thirsty? Some people try to satisfy their inner thirst with relationships. Some try to do it with possessions or fame. Others try to satisfy that thirst with drugs or alcohol. But none of those things will work. You need Jesus. He is the answer. Jesus was born to die that we might live. He makes all things new. And He’s only a prayer away.
