11-28-17 Morning in America
Morning in America :: by Lea Sylvester
“The stedfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” Proverbs 3:5
“But you, O LORD, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.” Psalm 86:15
It is morning in America again. This nation has endured eight long years (not counting G.W. Bush’s administration) of horrific events where we witnessed Americans slaughtered in foreign nations. We saw Americans imprisoned in foreign nations for confessing Christianity. We saw Americans cut down in our streets, in the name of tolerance. Perhaps worst of all, we allowed pagan gods and idols to be worshiped as the Sovereign God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel was thrown away.
Voting statistics show that the Evangelical Christian vote turnout was higher than ever. Hallelujah! But let us not be so wrong as to think our job ends there. It has just begun and we need mighty prayer warriors in this day. Now is the time for followers of Yeshua (Jesus Christ) to pray as never before. Repent of our individual sins, turn from our wicked ways, and repent on behalf of this nation that has allowed abominations to take place. Our Heavenly Father, as shown throughout His Word, deals with nations mainly on a corporate basis. This means when judgment falls, it falls upon the just and the unjust.
Perhaps the judgment of America has been stayed. Perhaps not. But, the Lord is never mocked. We cannot proclaim that we will make America great again without understanding that it is the Lord Almighty God who raises nations, tears down nations, and without this, it is only a very brief reprieve.
This writer urges fellow brethren to take this time to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters across the globe. To think that we in America will escape horrors for our testimony of the Lord as we see millions across the globe being crucified, tortured, for theirs is arrogant. Let us not be arrogant, but humble and understand that we are to serve one another. Pray for your lost friends and family. Witness to the lost, to your neighbors. Live a life that is pleasing to our Father. Lastly, pray for your enemies. Pray blessings upon them. Forgive them, let no root of bitterness take hold in your heart. It is through these prayers that our Father will remember those we love and have mercy upon them on our behalf.
Perhaps most importantly, let us never forget that anyone who stands against Israel stands against Almighty God. We cannot be for and against Him. Many churches, denominations, supposed teachers of “the gospel” are doing this. From this, depart. The blessings of the Kingdom will be given to those who bless the land belonging to Almighty God. The curses of God Almighty will fall upon those who do don’t. Make no mistake. This will happen. If we allow more land to be taken from Israel, our Father’s land, our land will be also be divided.
Remember those less fortunate than us. Have mercy on the homeless, the poor, the widows, the sick. This was a command from our Savior. Those who fail to do this are warned. The Parable of the Talents tells us:
“For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. Throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 25:29-30).
Furthermore, “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed you, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? ‘And, when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?? “The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.” (Matthew 25:34-40).
These are not the unbelievers to whom He is addressing. He is speaking to those who were blessed by His Hand and instead of letting His blessings flow to others on His behalf, they hoarded and heaped up material possessions to themselves. This is a warning.
To those who are suffering, oppressed, hungry, and rejected; be encouraged because your Father in Heaven knows who you are, He loves you, and your reward is in His kingdom. Make no mistake and do not allow the thoughts of the adversary to say otherwise. Test all things by The Spirit of the Living God and by His Word. Let no man deceive you.
I pray blessings and strength and favor upon all who read this.
