11-21-17 The National Debate of Achieving Equality

The national debate of achieving equality - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com
From professional athletes to political parties to friends and family, there has arisen a great national debate over what constitutes equality, where we have been as a nation, where we are now, and where we hope to be in the future. The route toward solving racial division and promoting unity among mankind of all colors, ethnicity's, and cultures is circuitous at best. There is plenty of disagreement on how to achieve this kind of peace. We can change laws and policies to guide such ideals, but the real roadblock is found in people's hearts. People tend to judge others from the content of their own hearts. Government can go only so far, especially when it takes an ungodly form.
In the early 1600s the Jamestown and Plymouth settlers came to what became the United States to live and worship the one true God as they pleased. They considered the Judeo-Christian God as the one true God--and none other. This is apparent in their writings--both personal and public. There is only one true God--the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They believed Jesus the Messiah's declaration as a foundational tenet of true faith: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me." Religion was defined as such. Freedom to worship without government mandates or interference was steeped in this belief; and, in reality, was the very premise of American government.
Despite what the leftists, the ungodly, the reformists, and even some so-called theologians would claim, the concept of government came from God. All men (mankind) are equal in the sight of God, God's laws treat all the same, and all mankind has an opportunity for eternal life through Jesus Christ. God gave the law and all were treated the same under it. As Paul writes in Galatians 3:28, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus." The disciples of Christ who developed this nation, did so patterned after the good and perfect government of God. Because of man, it is not perfect; but it places equality under the law as a foundational tenet.
Through the 17th-19th Centuries, it was well understood the uniqueness and eternal truth of the one true God found in Judeo-Christian religion--this is before people in the 20th Century twisted the meanings of words and terms. Only Christ on earth in his blood rendered all men equal before God and the hope of Christianity does not despise to see all citizens equal before the law. While this equality issue will not be settled until the return of Christ, it is us, as Christians, who are responsible for keeping the earthly flame of eternity before men--to preserve the flame of liberty in Christ to the benefit of mankind. We should treat others as we would like to be treated irrespective of the social and economic characteristics of their birth. By this example in Christ is how we bring empathy, understanding and equality to a dark and dying world.
