1-1-21 2021- What is It That You Seek

In the 1991 movie Silence of the Lambs Dr. Hannibal Lecter asked FBI agent Clarice Starling a profound question," What is it that you seek Clarice?" As 2021 rapidly approaches we each need to ask ourselves the same question. The answer to the question changes for most people as they progress through the different stages of life. For most people it will take them their entire lifetime to reach a conclusion that will bring peace and fullfillment to their life.Unfortunately some people don't live that long and enter eternity unprepared and lost. If 2020 has taught humanity anything and if you can get past the normalcy bias that we have been programmed into you realize that we only have the micro-second that we exist in now. If you are seeking earthly pleasures rather than spiritual advancement you probably won't be a happy camper in 2021 but even more you might lose the most important thing that you possess, your eternal Soul. Your soul will either be your greatest blessing or your greatest curse. You will decide which one it will be. Your soul is eternal, it's never going to die or be destroyed. Since you were conceived in your Mother's womb it's been with you. Because of the fall of man we all are born with a flawed soul that is lacking something, someone to make it whole and complete. We are all born in the image of God but we are not automatically a child of God. We have to make a choice to become His child and there is only one person that can bring our soul to Him. That person is His Son,our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who loved all of humanity past, present, and future so much that He suffered a torturous death in our place so that our new bodies and eternal souls could have fellowship with Him and His Father forever. A lot of people didn't survive 2020 and entered into eternity some to Hell others to Heaven. 2021 will be no exception in fact it will be worse that 2020 was. The odds of physically surviving this coming year is not in anyone's favor and only God knows for sure. So as we approach the final hours of 2020 I ask you, "What is It that you Seek?"
