7-31-20 A Covenant With Many

A Covenant with Many :: By Cynthia Nuara

There was a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) video conference on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. In their discussion, all the representatives opposed Israel’s annexation plan, and there were calls for sanctions against the Jewish state. A number of nations want to be involved in facilitating and negotiating a two-State “solution.”
Bulgaria’s Nickolay Mladenov, who is Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process and UN Secretary-General Guterres’ representative, said, “We must use the opportunity presented by the current crises to move forward, and to regain the path towards a negotiated two-State solution…in line with relevant UN resolutions, bilateral agreements and international law.” He reiterated Guterres’ call to the members of the Middle East Quartet, Arab countries, and Israeli and ‘Palestinian’ leadership to urgently re-engage.
China’s UN envoy Zhang Jun said he supported the ‘Palestinian’ cause and pledged China’s backing of an internationally ledpeace process, rather than one headed by US President Trump. China is one of five permanent UNSC members that have veto power in the 15-member body. “China supports [Palestinian Authority] President [Mahmoud] Abbas’s call for an international peace conference and to enlarge the *multi-lateral mechanism for peace,” Zhang said. He added that China “would positively consider participating” in such a conference “in appropriate ways.”
*Multilateralism, in international relations, refers to an alliance of multiple countries pursuing a common goal.
The Russian envoy, whose country has veto power at the UNSC and is a Mideast Quartet member, also appeared to attack the US peace plan and said Russia was ready to facilitate renewed Israeli and ‘Palestinian’ negotiations. “Russia is ready to undertake efforts in the interests of achieving a settlement within internationally recognized parameters, UN resolutions, Madrid principles [and] the Arab Peace Initiative, which provide for a ‘Palestinian’ state within the pre-1967 parameters with east Jerusalem as its capital,” he said.
The German representative, whose country holds the rotating UNSC presidency this month, reissued his country’s warning that any Israeli annexation efforts would harm ties between the Jewish state and the European Union and its member states.
Daniel Levy, an Israeli political scientist, policy advisor, and diplomat who is the president of the Middle East Project, backed the ‘Palestinians’ and called for sanctions against Israel. He said, “As of today, there has been no further Israeli annexation on the West Bank. That does not translate into this being a moment for self-congratulation; keep the champagne on ice. The collective challenge is not just how to prevent annexation, but how to address [Israeli] occupation and these deeper entrenched structural problems.”
France’s representative reiterated his country’s support for the two-State solution and urged Israel to abandon any annexation plans “whatever the perimeter.” He said it would have consequences for the European Union’s relationship with Israel, and emphasized that the Council must remain mobilized to prevent any such decision. He underscored France’s determination to work with Arab and European partners towards resuming ambitious negotiations between the parties, based on international law, Council resolutions, and internationally agreed parameters.
Tunisia’s representative said the Quartet, with support of the UN Security Council and other international actors, could live up to the challenge of preserving a two-State solution and relaunching the peace process.
Niger’s representative said it is incumbent on the UN Security Council, the Quartet and the international community to spare no effort to relaunch the Israeli-Palestinian peace process on the basis of unanimously accepted ideals and principles, in particular through resolution 1515 (2003) which enshrines the two-State solution.
Khalil Shikaki, a ‘Palestinian’ political scientist at the Ramallah-based Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research, said, “Replacing a rules-based international system with one based on greed and Evangelical religious myths is a threat not only to us, the ‘Palestinians,’ but also to you – all of you.”
Those who hate the Jews and Christians will find out—during the time of Jacob’s trouble aka Daniel’s 70th week, which we refer to as the Tribulation—that the Holy Spirit-inspired Bible is not a myth, and also how God feels about His land being divided (Joel 3).
The Apostle Paul said, “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape” (1 Thessalonians 5:1-3).
The bride of Christ is not appointed to the wrath to come (1 Thessalonians 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11). God’s wrath is poured out during the entire Tribulation (7 seals, 7 trumpets, and 7 bowls) that get increasingly more devastating.
Paul said that the mystery of lawlessness is already at work in the world, but after the restrainer is removed (the restraining power of the Holy Spirit along with us brethren in Christ), then the Wicked one will be revealed (2 Thessalonians 2).
The Antichrist will at first appear to be a man of peace, though he’s really a destroyer (Daniel 8:23-25).
As we brethren know, He’ll confirm a peace “covenant with many” for seven years, but will break it 3 ½ years into the seven-year tribulation and defile the rebuilt Jewish temple (Daniel 9:27).
One cannot confirm something that doesn’t already exist. And after the rapture, conditions will certainly be ripe for the Antichrist to step in and implement this plan in fairly short order that begins the seven-year countdown to Christ’s physical return to Earth.
It is at this midpoint when the Antichrist will actually claim to be God, and the False Prophet will cause all to take the mark of the beast that signifies worship of the Antichrist, or else they will be tracked down and killed. As we see, the technology for the mark and the tracking exists now.
“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place (whoso readeth, let him understand:), Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: … For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matthew 24:15-16, 21).
“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
“And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half [3 ½ years]; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
“And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand” (Daniel 12:4-10).
