1-30-20 Daily Dig

Daily Dig for January 30

Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt
Even to the Pharisees Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is in your midst.”  Why? Because in his love he refuses to let himself be severed from anyone, not even from his bitterest enemies. He sees them as in bondage, but he also sees in them the seed of God’s kingdom. In Jesus, God has planted a seed within the human race. This seed must sprout in each individual so that the kingdom comes forth from each person – from you and from me, from Jews and Gentiles, from the devout and the godless. This will be the marvel when God’s kingdom appears: it is not the work of anyone great, but it is something living that thrives and grows from millions of people.
