No, You’re Not Going to Be “OK” :: By Dave Hubley Published on: February 22, 2022 by RRadmin7 Category:General Articles A number of years ago, when I became a follower of Jesus Christ, I was given a passion for God’s Word of prophecy. I read and studied and read some more. I couldn’t get enough of it. I still can’t after almost 30 years. No one but God Himself could reveal the “end from the beginning,” I realized, and His Spirit made that clear to me. The verses in the book of Isaiah (46: 9-10) rang in my spirit and my soul. God had “signed” His Word like no one else could – through minutely and precisely fulfilled future prophecy. It, along with Ezekiel 33:6, was made clear to me over time to be my spiritual gift. The love of prophecy became the foundation for my understanding of the requirement for the “Watchman on the Wall,” spoken of by Ezekiel, to carry out his obligation to share the Prophetic Word of God, for as I found after much study, that Word is 100% accurate. Was there any reason for me to doubt that the balance of it would be literally fulfilled? No, none. Let me be clear; I am not a prophet, and I do not claim to be one. The last Word of prophecy was given to John on the island of Patmos around 95AD. God had revealed all that He intended to reveal and all that is necessary for us to know at that time, and indeed, up to the present time. All that I convey here is only what God has proclaimed through His actual prophets in the Old Testament and the new. It is not myth. It is not imagination. It is its own proof text. John, on the island of Patmos, was commanded to eat the scroll of prophecy. It tasted sweet in his mouth, and then it turned sour in his stomach. After he had eaten the scroll, he was told he must prophesy again to many peoples, nations, languages and kings (Rev 10: 9-11); thus, he wrote the book of Revelation. I suspect that, like the Old Testament prophet Daniel, John was made ill by the weight of what he was charged to reveal to the world. John, especially, knew that anything told him by the Lord Jesus was going to be the Truth and be literally fulfilled. Many of us who read and study these prophecies and realize just how near we are to the end of the age know what the “sour stomach” John had experienced felt like. When we consider our family, friends, and even complete strangers that are unsaved and unwilling to listen, we get a taste of what it was like for John. No doubt most, if not all, of my fellow followers of Jesus who have received this gift of the study and understanding of prophecy have found that most times when we try to warn unsaved people of the future that God has made clear, and moreover, when we see the actual unfolding of the tribulations (small-t) that our Lord Jesus foretold to the disciples recorded in Matthew 24:3-8; Mark 13:5-8 and Luke 21:10-11 and the soon fulfillment of the 70th week of Daniel, also commonly referred to as the Tribulation (big-T), it is not unusual to hear the phrase (most normally spoken unconvincingly), “I’ll be OK,” and see the clouded over, unfocused and distant stare. It is the burden of the watchman, but it is a burden we willingly accept for our Lord as He does not want anyone to perish. Now to the crux of this article. This article is written for all those who have not been willing to face up to the truth of the consequences of ignoring the circumstances swirling around us all. That, in fact, we are at the very end of the end of the age of Grace where you can be saved from the consequences of your sin and rebellion by coming in sincerity and humility before the God who paid your penalty for you. For God’s Word tells us that “the wages of sin is death.” Below I will clarify what this term “death” means and what it does not mean. We must come to God on His terms. And what are His terms according to His Word? Genuine repentance Confession of sins Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross To acknowledge that you are unable to pay that debt To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion If you have not or will not do this, then, No, you will NOT be “OK.” Without Jesus, you will be lost forever. Eternally separated from God and any trace of light and goodness. When we find the courage to face up to the truth, we are all sinful and rebellious against God. We ignore Him and go our own way. However, if you ask God to show you, He will do so gently, for He is gentle and merciful to those who seek His Truth. He will not force anyone to repent, but by not deciding, you will have decided. God is full of mercy and grace, and he does not want anyone to perish but all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). But please understand, God is also Holy, Righteous and Perfect, and He cannot allow unrepentant sinful, Christ-rejecting people to enter His eternal Kingdom. He MUST judge sin, and He WILL do it. What the Bible teaches about death for those who reject the free offer of salvation paid for by Jesus’ death on the cross Death, in this case, does not mean that you simply cease to exist (a term called Nihilism). The human soul was created by God to exist forever in one or the other of two states. Either in joy and peace with God (repentant souls) or eternal darkness and terror in hell (unrepentant souls). He has given every person the right to reject or embrace His terms while still physically alive. Please understand these truths have always been taught by God in His Word. They are not new. Jesus Himself, the author of the salvation He offers to you, reiterated this truth many times. What can you do right now? My friend, I urge you to go and face yourself in the mirror, and while you are doing that, please read these next four sentences out loud. 1) God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him under His terms that will be refused. 2) No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one. 3) No matter what my past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive me because He says He will. 4) Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions. Here is the Good News! (The Gospel simply means – Good News) – and it is!! Today can be the day of your salvation! That person looking back at you in the mirror can be forgiven their sins and have the gift of eternal life simply by meeting God’s conditions and asking for it. I pray you will do it. If you did that, then, YES, you WILL be OK. You will be better than OK. Revelation 3:20 – “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with Me.” 1 Corinthians 2:9 – “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.” Pro Salvator Vigilans To contact me: canoeman96@gmail.com
