11-26-21 God Only Knows

God Only Knows :: By Dennis Huebshman Published on: October 23, 2021 by RRadmin7 Category:General Articles How many times have you heard someone use the expression, “God Knows…(whatever)”? Some use this to try and give words that they are about to say credibility, but unless one is actually referring to something the Father has inspired them with, this could be considered using His name in vain. It should be noted that anytime we use the name of God, it is to be done in a manner that honors Him, and this applies to our Savior as well. (all emphasis mine) Before actually calling out to Jesus about thirty-five years ago to “rescue” me and be my Savior, I must admit I was guilty of using His and the Father’s names improperly more times than I would like to admit. Today, if I say, “Thank You, Father” or Thank You, My Jesus,” it’s with a sincere heartfelt emotion that I am giving praise and glory to my Lord; my God; my Creator. With all the turmoil, evil and end-time signs that are appearing regularly, I am truly grateful to my Lord for giving me hope. This is only possible for those who have developed a relationship with Jesus and have become a member of His flock of true believers. The word of the Lord is full of passages that show us how to praise the Lord in all things. Below are only a few verses that give what and how our praise ought to be. Psalm 95:1-3; “Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our Salvation. Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” Psalm 9:1-2; “I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of Your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High!” Philippians 4:4-7; “Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I will say rejoice. Let Your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Hebrews 12:28-29; “Therefore, let us be grateful for receiving a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer God acceptable worship with reverence and awe; for Our God is a Consuming Fire.” Revelation 19:5-6; “And from the throne came a voice saying, ‘Praise our God, all you His servants; you who fear Him, small and great.’ Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters, and the sound of mighty peals of thunder crying out – Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns!” As I stated, these are only a fraction of praises we can find throughout the Father’s Holy Word to us. Going back to the first paragraph, if we add “only” to make the phrase “God Only Knows” and then give all glory to Him, we are actually praising Him for being omniscient – all-knowing; omnipresent – everywhere; and omnipotent – all-powerful. There’s a song that was released by “King and Country” in July 2018 titled “God Only Knows.” It’s rather lengthy with a lot of repeats but very much worth listening to on YouTube. Two stanzas stand out that speak volumes. “God only knows what you’ve been through. God only knows what they say about you. God only knows how it’s killing you, but there’s a kind of love that God Only Knows. God only knows where to find you. God only knows how to break through. God only knows the real you; there’s a kind of love that God Only Knows.” In this world today, there is a definite drawing away from anything that pertains to Jesus, just as He said would happen near the end of this age. More and more false prophets and antichrists are present, and their influence is drawing people away from the truth. Matthew 7:13-14 is in full swing with the broad path vs the straight and narrow. Just over the past few weeks, we saw and heard about horrific tales of people being martyred in Afghanistan just for having a Bible app on their cell phones. Christians were being taken from their homes and killed. It hasn’t gotten to that point in America yet, but the day is coming when anyone that professes faith in the Savior will be martyred. This will be worldwide under the reign of the ultimate evil antichrist. The stage is being set today for the takeover, and believers are the ones being called “haters.” All the “letter” groups and false preachers in numerous churches are advocating that all the abominations given in the Bible no longer exist. Messages are given to cause the audience to have inspirational moments, but just not Biblical. Catchy music along with ear-tickling entertainment sessions keep the seats filled at each service. Satan is loving every moment of this. The absolute truth is not difficult and is as simple as ABC. God does not want anyone to fail (2 Peter 3:9), and Jesus is waiting for anyone to admit they have sinned, believe He is the only way to receive forgiveness and that He is the only pathway to eternal life, and to receive their call in order to save them. All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. One stipulation to this is each person must call for themselves. No one can do it for us. Once we belong to the Lord, we are His forever. John 10 tells us just how close this bond is. Events are rapidly telling us that the end of this age is drawing very near. Today would not be too early to call on Jesus to save you, as tomorrow could be too late. Several scriptures to look at are John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 8:1; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; and Romans 10:9-13. Our Jesus took our punishment through His pure, sinless sacrifice so that we could be saved. We cannot buy or earn one second of time in Heaven, but He willingly gave His life to pay for our sins so that all who receive and accept Him can have the gift of eternal life with Him. We will never be perfect and sinless in these human bodies, but when we receive our immortal forever bodies, we will not be subject to temptation ever again. All who reject Him will spend eternity in Hell. It’s as plain and simple as that. It’s not a game of chance but is as real as it can get. He would love to personally prepare a place for all of us if we would only call on Him to save us (John 14:1-3). Today, this minute, would not be too early. He’s waiting for you. Shalom! Come, Lord Jesus! huebshman46@gmail.com
