Not Better but New Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt It is not at all a question of being better than you were before. The new life means that forces for life can now be seen within you, that something of God and of heaven, something holy, can grow in you. It means we can actually see that it is no longer the sinful desires that have power, but Christ’s resurrection, and his life, which leads you toward wholeness. Source: Christ Rising

2-28-21 Daily Prayer

Daily Prayer for February 28 Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth. Psalm 57:10-11, NIV Dear Father in heaven, we thank you that you have always been gracious to us, revealing your great goodness and power in ages past and in the present. In this revelation we live, O Lord our God. You are the almighty One, who works wonders on earth and who rules the heavens so that we can be blest and helped on our earthly paths. Let your goodness and your justice be revealed throughout all the world. Arise, O Lord our God. Let your light shine in us who believe in you. Let your light shine into the whole world. Let your name be glorified. You are indeed our Father, both in heaven and on earth. You give our lives security now and in eternity. Amen.

2-28-21 Today in the Word

MANY HANDS When I was a pastor, our church hosted Vacation Bible School every summer. Planning began months before the event with the same announcement every year: “Many hands make light work.” Paul would have liked this announcement because he was not a lone ranger in his ministry. One reason for his effectiveness was that he relied on the help of many hands. Paul ends this significant letter with the introduction of Phoebe (vv. 1–2), a host of personal greetings, and a closing benediction. One striking feature of this chapter is the number of people that Paul knew in a church he had not yet visited. One reason was the church’s location. Rome was the most important city in Paul’s day. It is not surprising that it would attract many believers. But the number of people in Paul’s list also shows how important relationships were to the success of his ministry. The apostle does more than simply list the names of those he greets. In the majority of instances, he adds a personal note. He d...

2-28-21 Daily Devotion

February 28, 2021 Sunday Reflection: Facing Challenges To get the most out of this devotion, set aside time to read the Scripture referenced throughout. A few thousand years ago, the young shepherd David stepped forward to fight Goliath. We often speak of this story as a reminder of the young man’s bravery, even when the odds were against him. But David’s bravery—and success—came from His deep faith in God. (See 1 Samuel 17). And this faith helped him go on to become a successful warrior and king. The Lord gave David many responsibilities during his reign, and he endured numerous trials—some due to his own sin. Through it all, the king returned to God again and again in humble dependence and repeatedly proclaimed his trust in the Lord’s faithfulness. God calls us to abide in this kind of relationship with Him. In seasons of trial or abundance—and we’ll likely experience both, even simultaneously—we can cling to Him and trust that He is the source of all courage, perseverance, and ab...

2-28-21 Looking for Truth in All the Wrong Places

Looking for Truth In All the Wrong Places :: By Holly Spate Published on: September 1, 2020 by RRadmin7 Category:General Articles, Holly Spate Truth. As time goes on, I wonder how many people in our world are really, sincerely seeking truth. It seems the truth is to many just what feels right to them. It’s their own set of rules and ways…their own reality. It appears a lot of people have their own version of “truth” that they gravitate toward. Sadly, even many who identify themselves as believers in Christ have strayed and sought their own version of truth. Many look more to man for direction and acceptance than to God and His Word. Some base truth simply on experiences or feelings even though those things can lead them astray. There are others who are so wrapped up in idolizing their preachers and teachers that they close their Bibles and just soak in everything they are taught. They simply surrender and blindly follow, which leads them to not question anything. But, aren’t we calle...

2-28-20 Don't Be Afraid to Be Bold

Don’t Be Afraid to Be Bold :: By Alice Childs Published on: September 1, 2020 by RRadmin7 Category:Alice Johnson Childs, General Articles “By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil” (Proverbs 16:6, KJV). When we truly grasp the magnitude of the depth of God’s unfathomable mercy and grace so freely bestowed upon us upon our salvation, that is when we as believers truly begin to “die to self.” Only then do we begin to develop a healthy fear of the Lord, which is “the beginning of wisdom.” We will never be wise in any area of our lives without a proper fear (a deep and awe-inspiring respect and reverence) of the Lord and His holiness. Only when we are faced with the brutal truth of the depth of our own sin nature will we even begin to grasp what His mercy and love has done for us through His death and resurrection. When presenting the gospel to those who are lost, the lost soul must first be confronted with the FACT of his lostness so that h...

2-28-21 The Gospel According to Luke Part 36

The Gospel According to Luke: Part 36 :: By Dr. Donald Whitchard Published on: September 1, 2020 by RRadmin7 Category:General Articles An Exposition Luke 14:1-6: “A Lesson in Compassion” “And it came about when He went into the house of one of the leaders of the Pharisees on the Sabbath to eat bread, they were watching Him closely. And there in front of Him was a certain man suffering from dropsy. And Jesus answered and spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees saying, ‘Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?’ But they kept silent. And He took hold of him and healed him and sent him away. And He said to them, ‘Which one of you shall have a son or an ox fall into a well, and will not immediately pull him out on a Sabbath day?’ And they could make no reply to this” (Luke 14:1-6, NASB). The Lord Jesus is an expert at knocking people, who think too much of themselves, off their pedestals. He has no tolerance or empathy for anyone who believes that they are somehow more worthy or important...

2-28-21 Righteousness Through Suffering God's Way

Righteousness Through Suffering God’s Way :: By Mark A. Becker Published on: September 1, 2020 by RRadmin7 Category:General Articles Introduction Paradoxes of paradoxes is how God uses suffering to produce righteousness in His children. Through suffering, God’s children ultimately find joy and peace with their Father. The world can never know this, let alone understand and relate to it. Suffering comes in many forms: physical pain, disease, persecution, familial divisions, friendship conflicts, etc. God can, and does, use these sufferings for his own purposes and for the advancement of His children to accomplish His will. These situations are never pleasant at the time, but looking back, the believer with his or her eyes wide-open, should be able to see the fruits of these painful experiences. Just ask Job! I’d like to give the reader an example of just one of several instances of sufferings I have endured in this life, in an effort to inspire and encourage others who have gone thro...

Rapture Ready End Times News 27 Feb 2021 Published on: February 27, 2021 by RRadmin7 Federal Judge Rules Nationwide Eviction Ban Is Unconstitutional A judge in Texas on Thursday ruled that the federal government does not have the authority to issue a nationwide eviction moratorium. U.S. District Judge John Barker, a Trump appointee, ruled in favor of a group of property managers and landlords who challenged a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) order that prevented them from temporarily evicting tenants for non-payment of rent during the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus pandemic. Banning news links just days before Australia’s COVID vaccine rollout? Facebook’s decision to ban media organisations from posting links to news articles on the social media giant’s platform comes less than a week before Australia’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout begins. The ban also prevented many health organisations, government health departments and other organisations from posting links (some, ...

3-27-21 Daily Prayer

Daily Prayer for February 27 Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor's crown. Revelation 2:10, NIV Lord our God, we come into your presence. Hear our prayers, we entreat you. Let your will be done among us; let your will be done for each one of us individually, and for our time. Let everything go according to your will, even if the way leads through tribulation, fear, and need. For in the end your goal will be reached. In the end you will fulfill your purpose, and your kingdom will come. Your kingdom will come to the honor of your name and for the redemption of all people still suffering on earth. Let your Word bring us blessing. May we go forward joyfully in the patience of Jesus Christ until times change, until a new day dawns and we are allowed to ...

3-27-21 Daily Dig

Not a Defeat but a Victory N. T. Wright The cross is not a defeat, but a victory. It is the dramatic reassertion of the fact that God’s love is sovereign, that the rulers of the world do not have the last word, that the kingdom of God has defeated the kingdom of Satan, that the kingdoms of the world have now become, in principle, the kingdom of our God, and of his Messiah: and he shall reign for ever and ever. 3-27-21 Daily Devotion

February 27, 2021 Resurrection: Our New Body 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Scripture uses beautiful imagery to describe the return of Christ. Today’s passage, for example, says at the Lord’s shout and the sounding of a trumpet, the “dead in Christ” will emerge from their resting places and soar into the sky (1 Thessalonians 4:16). Close behind them will be believers who haven’t yet departed this life. They’ll be changed as they are “caught up ... to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:17). Earthly flesh and bones age, lose vitality, and succumb to sin. So God promised that the body of every believer would be transformed into a glorious one like Christ’s after His resurrection. In heaven, we will no longer have to deal with temptations or limitations of our present time-bound existence. Perhaps we won’t even be restricted by space, since John 20:19 indicates that the resurrected Jesus didn’t bother with doors! Our new bodies will be suited for the environment where we are to dwell ...

2-27-21 Romans Lesson 32

Romans Lesson 32: Do You Have Beautiful Feet? :: By Sean Gooding Published on: September 1, 2020 by RRadmin7 Category:General Articles, Sean Gooding Chapter 10:14-21 “14How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!’16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed our report?’ 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. “18 But I say, have they not heard? Yes indeed: ‘Their sound has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.”19 But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says: ‘I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation, I will move you to anger by a foolish nation.’ 20 But Isaiah is ve...

2-27-21 Muslims Caught Hiding Secret Shaft

Muslims Caught Hiding Secret Shaft on Temple Mount from Second Temple Period - Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz - https://www.israel365news.com/157589/muslims-caught-hiding-secret-shaft-on-temple-mount-from-2nd-temple-period/ In the days to come, The Mount of Hashem's House Shall stand firm above the mountains And tower above the hills; And all the nations Shall gaze on it with joy. Isaiah 2:2 (The Israel BibleTM) Last week, a broken flagstone on the Temple Mount revealed a tunnel, approximately two feet square, descending several yards where it seems to join up with a larger tunnel. The entrance is located in the southern end of the Temple Mount, between the Aqsa Mosque and the Mughrabi Gate. Assaf Fried, the spokesman for the Temple Organizations, said that last Wednesday, the tunnel was revealed. "The Waqf is being very secretive about the existence of the tunnel but to all appearances, a vehicle or construction equipment broke through the paving stone," Fried told Brea...

2-27-21 Geometric Progression in Prophecy

Nearing Midnight: Geometric Progression in Prophecy - Terry James - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ Computer technology that took Neil Armstrong and crew to the moon and back, it is reported, involved less computing power than that of the first desktop sold commercially. This was a stunning revelation to me when I first heard it. When the moon mission was being planned, the technological wonders flashing upon some of the control monitors they showed us looked phenomenally complex. They were, in fact, phenomenally complex at that primitive moment in the progression of the space program. Now, I'm told, the average teenager holds in his or her hand a device that can perform functions exponentially beyond those available to the launch scientists of Apollo 11. The laptop I'm using to type this piece, I'm told, is as far advanced from the computer power available in the year my beloved wife and I were married-1969-as today's Air Force One 747 i...

2-27-21 Is The UAE-Israel Deal a Manifestation of Abraham's Legacy?

Is the UAE-Israel deal a manifestation of Abraham's legacy? - Warren Goldstein - https://www.jpost.com/opinion/is-the-uae-israel-deal-a-manifestation-of-abrahams-legacy-640409 Remarkably, Abraham's legacy is so powerful and relevant that a peace accord is named after him almost 4,000 years since his birth. The elation felt in both Israel and the United Arab Emirates over the recent peace deal emerged so powerfully at a public discussion I hosted this week with Ambassadors Michael Oren and Dore Gold Jewish Council of the Emirates president Ross Kriel. The South African-born Ross said the feelings of the Jewish community and its interaction with the broader society at this time reminded him of the excitement in South Africa when Nelson Mandela was released and the journey to peace and reconciliation began. Now, he said, there is a palpable joy across a very broad range of people in Dubai for what this peace deal means and how it can benefit the two countries. This reminds...
