We can expect to see an increase in frequency and intensity of catastrophes and disasters, both natural and man-made, as we come closer to the Lord's return: Luke 21:25-28  - "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will b...

4-30-20 Daily Prayer

Image
Daily Prayer for April 30 Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” Luke 22:41-42, NIV Dear Father in heaven,  we lift our eyes to you. You allow earthly events to follow their own course, and even your own Son had to suffer and die. But your plan is already prepared and you will act in our time according to your will. We pray, “Your will be done, your will!” In the midst of all the suffering let your love be revealed in many places, wherever it is possible for people to understand it. You have always protected us; protect us still. You have done much for us and we want to praise your name. We want to be people who always acknowledge you and praise you, for you will never let any be lost who hope in you. Be with us this night, help us, and send us the strength we need to serve you, also in our everyday life. Amen. Free ebook this w...

4-30-20 Daily Dig

Daily Dig for April 30 Kahlil Gibran Jesus was not a bird with broken wings. He was a raging tempest who broke all crooked wings. He feared not his persecutors nor his enemies. Free and brave and daring he was. He defied all despots and oppressors. He saw the contagious pustules and amputated them. He muted Evil and he crushed Falsehood and he choked Treachery. 4-30-20 Today in the Word

OUR SURPRISING SAVIOR Thursday, April 30, 2020 |  Matthew 28:16–20   FAITH AND DOUBT In one parable, Jesus told the story of a man in hell who pleaded with Abraham to send someone back from the dead to warn his brothers of the danger. Abraham refused the man’s request: “If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead” (Luke 16:31). Jesus’ point was proven after His own resurrection. He had directed the eleven remaining disciples to meet Him on “the mountain” in Galilee (Matt. 28:16). Matthew adds a surprising detail about this encounter with Jesus in verse 17: “some doubted.” Who were these doubters? Some believe they were the eleven. Others think it was a larger group that was present. At first the eleven struggled to accept the testimony of those who had seen the risen Christ (Luke 24:11; John 20:24–27). There is more to faith than hearing or seeing. W...

4-30-20 Daily Devotion

April 30, 2020 Expanding the Horizons Acts 1:1-8 The horizon is the farthest point of land or water that a person can see, where earth and sky meet. Yet the universe extends far beyond what the eye can behold. Similarly, the church’s vision can be limited. God said to bring the gospel to every nation, but we often confine our outreach to what we think is manageable. Sometimes what holds us back from fulfilling God’s command is our limited experiences and understanding. We may act according to logic, but God calls us to obey in faith. For example, rational thought might lead people to avoid missions in a foreign country because it isn’t safe. Or perhaps there’s a language barrier. But Jesus said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God” ( Luke 18:27 ). He is fully aware of our human limitations, so He provides guidance, wisdom, and strength to accomplish His will. The church is to share the gospel, and God will call individuals to fulfill this comm...

4-30-20 Lockdown 2020

Lockdown 2020 :: By Jim Towers Published on:  April 29, 2020  by  RRadmin7   Category: General Articles ,  Jim Torres “Towers” Who would have ever thought such a thing could happen – worldwide? I’m talking, of course, about the covid19 virus and the quarantine that accompanied it. What else in all the world would cause people to look up and question whether this event was God-ordained? If the virus is an act of God, then, in one fell swoop, He was able to get the attention of every single person in the whole world, but to what avail? First of all, to acknowledge Him, humble ourselves, repent and prepare for the rapture…That’s all. While many of us are in our third week of isolation, we can’t help but wonder if and when the nightmare will be over, but the next catastrophe, as a follow up, is the voracious plague of locusts unleashed over ten countries so far, and many will likely die of starvation. At the same time, vicious storms have been unleased thr...

4-30-20 Does Science Explain Away God?

Image
Does Science Explain Away God? Andrew Menkis Tuesday, 21 Apr 20 In ages past the world was full of mystery and magic. The universe was so vast, diverse, and intricate that no human individual or society could explain how it all worked. So, in order to explain the universe, the way it came to be, and the manner in which it works, societies invented religions. God was posited as a powerful being who made and designed the earth and humanity. God became the answer to everything we didn’t know about the world. Why do the tides rise twice a day? God makes it happen. Where did the stars come from? God placed them in the heavens. Why does the universe exist? God decided to create it. Why are humans conscious? God made them that way. The list could go on, but you get the idea. ...
