9-29-21 Daily Dig

Unexpected Grace Ann Thomas We speak about “having hope” as if it were a substance one could possess, but after working in the cemetery, I think of it as space, a field to be cultivated. That field holds the treasure of eternal life; it’s the same one the merchant sells all he owns to purchase (Matt. 13:44). That field grants us the ability to accommodate all we encounter: the sorrow, the doubt, the suffering, the pain we inevitably face no matter who we are, where we live. Ann Thomas helped people choose a cemetery plot, but she experienced much more.

9-29-21 Daily Prayer

Daily Prayer for September 29 Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. John 16:21–22, NIV Dear Father in heaven, grant us your Spirit so that here on earth we may be united with you in Jesus Christ the Savior. May truth dawn on us with its light, bringing joy no matter what happens to us. May all the pain in our lives be turned into birth pangs of a new life in which we can rejoice as people you have created, people prepared for the struggle on earth, who are called into battle and led to victory. Grant that we may not be blinded by the surrounding darkness. Shed a clear light on the new life that is coming. May we see what has already happened because Jesus Christ came to the earth and remains on earth,...

Serving in Weakness Wednesday, September 29, 2021 | 2 Corinthians 12 On the Go? Listen to Today's Devotional After the death of John the Baptist, Jesus withdrew to a solitary place, but the crowd followed Him there. As the evening drew near, the disciples expressed concern. “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late,” they said. “Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.” They were stunned by Jesus’ reply. “They do not need to go away,” He told them. “You give them something to eat” (Matt. 14:13–17). Some people like to say that God will never give us what we can’t handle. But those who follow Christ often feel like the circumstances they face are overwhelming. Paul had some remarkable spiritual experiences. In verses 2–4 he even speaks of visions, referring to himself in the third person to downplay the experience. But Paul also struggled with something he describes as a “thorn in the flesh” (v. 7). This unspecified affliction...

September 29, 2021 The Blessings of Inadequacy 2 Corinthians 3:4-6 Have you ever considered inadequacy a blessing? Life is filled with struggles that reveal our insufficiency, and it arouses uncomfortable emotions that make us feel useless, insignificant, and weak. No one likes the frustration and fear of facing challenges that are too big to handle, but God can use them for our good. Our job is to acknowledge our helplessness, depend on His strength, and step out with confidence in Him. Inadequacy can be a blessing since it ... • Drives us to the Lord as we recognize our helplessness. • Relieves us of trying to do God’s will in our own strength. • Motivates us to live in the power of the Holy Spirit. • Provides opportunity for God to demonstrate His power. • Humbles our pride. • Allows Christ to receive all the glory. • Produces peace as we rely on Him. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, believers have the ability to endure difficulty and accomplish whatever the Lord calls them...

9-29-21 Let’s Have Some End-Time Fun with President Trump

Let’s Have Some End-Time Fun with President Trump :: By David Cogburn Published on: September 21, 2021 by RRadmin7 Category:General Articles I think we will all agree that not only our nation but the entire world has undergone a tremendous change since our Presidential election in 2016. President Obama had been President for 8 years, and most thought it was abundantly clear that the next President would be long overdue Hillary Clinton to be the first woman president of the United States. Our country took a “hard” left turn under the two terms of President Obama, and Hillary Clinton was thought to continue us in that direction. Then out of the blue comes a Republican challenger, a businessman named Donald Trump, who had never spent even one minute in any kind of political office. He was running against a herd of experienced, savvy political opponents, most of whom had spent their entire careers in political office of some kind or another. His candidacy was considered a “joke” by mainst...

9-29-21 He in Us, and We in Him

He in Us, and We in Him :: By Tom Tillman Published on: September 17, 2021 by RRadmin7 Category:General Articles This just might revolutionize your prayer life. A most wonderful fact that God’s Word teaches us is that now… even now and always… “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Eph 2:4-10). It would take many pages to give this passage the attention it deserves, bu...

9-29-21 WHY DOES JONAH RUN FROM GOD?

WHY DOES JONAH RUN FROM GOD? Adriel Sanchez Wednesday, 8 September 21 In Jonah, there’s no story before God’s call to Jonah. No setting is described. The author mentions no year or season. He doesn’t tell us who he is or why he’s writing. He doesn’t tell us anything about his main character, Jonah, except his name and his father’s name. The word of God comes to Jonah, but we don’t know where or how. This differs from other prophets like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel. Each of these books describe either a broad historical setting, the specific setting of God’s call, or the prophet’s life and background. It may be that the author of Jonah assumed that his audience would already be familiar with his protagonist.[1] Jonah is mentioned briefly in 2 Kings 14:25, where he spoke God’s word to the evil king of Israel, Jeroboam. But since we don’t know the author or when the book of Jonah was written, we also don’t a have a clear sense of the book’s original audience. What matters is...

9-28-21 Daily Prayer

Daily Prayer for September 28 Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story – those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south. Psalm 107:1–3, NIV Lord our God and our Father, we thank you for all the blessings you have brought into our lives and for everything we still hope to receive from your goodness. We thank you that through your Spirit you will work more and more in us and in all people, so that we are not held back by any human considerations but can go toward a higher goal. Keep us in your care. In all our special concerns may each of us experience your comfort and help, so that we may rejoice with the praise of your name always in our hearts. Amen.

A Servant's Resume Tuesday, September 28, 2021 | 2 Corinthians 11 On the Go? Listen to Today's Devotional Candidates who interview for a job are often put in the awkward position of trying to sell themselves to a potential employer. They list their accomplishments and describe their strengths in an attempt to portray themselves in the best possible light. Paul found himself in a similar position because of the criticism of those the Corinthians regarded as “super-apostles” but were really false teachers (vv. 5, 13). To counter their false narrative, Paul offered his own resume. Its most notable feature is the list of difficulties he had faced to advance the message of Christ. The result is a study in contrast. The false apostles enriched themselves at the expense of those they were supposed to serve. One of the telltale signs of this was the way they had treated the Corinthians. They “put on airs” and abused them (v. 20). The more poorly they treated the Corinthians, the mor...

9-28-21 Daily Devotion

September 28, 2021 The Burden of Inadequacy Deuteronomy 1:26-36 Because we’re human, at some point we will all experience inadequacy. So the real issue you and I face is not whether we are sufficient for a task but how we respond when a challenge is beyond our capabilities. Oftentimes as an obstacle grows in our mind, we want to run in the opposite direction, away from the challenge and toward safety. However, avoiding a task that God has given us will lead to bondage. The more we feed our fear, the more we’ll be controlled by feelings of inadequacy, which can impact decisions we make and, ultimately, our future. Look at the Israelites in today’s passage. Standing on the edge of the Promised Land, they were overcome by fear. The size and strength of the enemy was overwhelming. As a result of their refusal to trust the Lord and move forward to conquer the local inhabitants, those Israelites never saw the land that He wanted to give them. Opportunities are often lost when we let fear o...

9-29-21 An Industry Insider Just Revealed The Truth About What Is Really Behind The Shortages At Our Local Supermarkets

An Industry Insider Just Revealed The Truth About What Is Really Behind The Shortages At Our Local Supermarkets - by Michael Snyder - http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/an-industry-insider-just-revealed-the-truth-about-what-is-really-behind-the-shortages-at-our-local-supermarkets/ The supply chain crisis that our supermarkets are facing is far worse than the mainstream media has been telling us. The mainstream media keeps trying to put a happy face on the “temporary” shortages, but an industry insider has let me know what is really going on behind the scenes. This particular insider runs a grocery store in Maine, and he says that things are as bad as he has ever seen. In fact, he says that he has “never seen anything close to what is happening now”. The email that he sent me the other day greatly alarmed me, and I asked him if I could share it with all of you. He gave me permission to do so, as long as I didn’t use his name. I haven’t received an email this startling in a long time. ...

9-28-21 Panic Hoarding Gasoline Begins as UK Plunges Towards

Panic Hoarding Gasoline Begins as UK Plunges Towards – Tyler Durden - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=4981 One day after oil giant BP warned about rationing gasoline and diesel at UK service stations, Brits began to panic buy fuel as the government tried to calm fears. Lines of cars and trucks are spilling over into the streets at service stations across the country. A BP spokesperson said Thursday that a truck driver shortage has resulted in its inability to transport fuel from refineries to its network of service stations. These words spooked the public, which could cause a more severe shortage due to the hoarding. The scenes of long lines at gas stations bring back memories of the 1973 Opec Oil Crisis, the 2000 fuel shortage, and the virus pandemic disruptions amid fears the country is diving headfirst into a 1970s-style "winter of discontent" of shortages and socio-economic distress. On Friday afternoon, Transport Secretary Grant Shapp...

The Constant Tramp of Feet Is Reality :: By Ron Ferguson Published on: September 21, 2021 by RRadmin7 Category:General Articles This is my latest poem and written with an urgency quite quickly; it connects right now with society. Note the quotation marks because it helps with speakers. I hope you can work it out; it applies to us and also to Christians in other more restricted places. THE CONSTANT TRAMP OF FEET IS IN MY EARS. It’s growing louder now. I hear disquiet and people forced to bow. People must pay homage to climate change; Must worship more conjectures strange. “Do not question; just obey. Careful now with what you say. Big Brother watches night and day. At socialism’s feet, your tribute pay.” “You must not destroy the earth; Our Mother earth who gave us birth. Break out in Cybele’s praise; To Mother earth, your voices raise; Drink to Bacchus; feast to Diana; Celebrate Pan; raise his banner.” THE CONSTANT TRAMP OF FEET IS IN MY EARS. It’s growing louder even more. “What...

Satan’s Timeline :: By Geri Ungurean Published on: September 21, 2021 by RRadmin7 Category:General Articles, Geri Ungurean Brethren, I want the readers to keep in their minds something I have been stressing, and that is GOD IS IN FULL CONTROL. Everything that is happening, God has allowed – NOTHING surprises Him! “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:28-31). “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). 9-28-21 Evil in America: Betrayal of Its People and Israel

Evil in America: Betrayal of Its People and Israel :: By Robert Campbell Published on: September 19, 2021 by RRadmin7 Category:General Articles Hello, folks; I must say extraordinary events have taken place in the last few years – events that make pages jump right out of the Bible. It is sometimes hard to believe that we Americans have killed over 61 million babies in the womb since Roe v. Wade, all because one or two people think it is alright to do so. They believe that they can kill a life that they needed another person to help produce just because it’s in their body. We just go on with life and justify the murder of innocent children whose souls are important to God. It’s easier to have an abortion than go to a car wash to have your car cleaned. And in our minds, we think it is ok with God. We Christians go to church to praise Jesus, while across the street, babies are being aborted. Our minds have been conditioned to look the other way. It’s like taking the garbage out. Folks, G...

9-28-21HOW MOMS CAN MODEL GOD’S GRACE

HOW MOMS CAN MODEL GOD’S GRACE Gloria Furman Thursday, 9 September 21 Do You Need It? Mothers have a strategic role in allowing the gospel to shape their home by expecting that we are always in need of God’s grace. Do you need God’s grace? Or do you have what it takes to multitask your busy routine? Do you need God’s grace? Or have you been “down this road before” with your husband, and your conflict will sort itself out in time? Do you need God’s grace? Or do you just need Google? Do you need God’s grace? Or do you pretty much have this motherhood gig in the bag? If we want to give grace to our children, then first we must be willing to receive it ourselves from God. In the midst of endless possibilities for the “we always” of our homes, there is one expectation that we are certain to meet every day, whether or not we are conscious of it: we always need God’s grace. As one hymn writer wrote, “All the fitness he requireth is to feel your need of him.”1 Grace is the most important ...
