Waiting or Doing? Henri J. M. Nouwen Waiting is not a very popular attitude. Waiting is not something that people think about with great sympathy. In fact, most people consider waiting a waste of time. Perhaps this is because the culture in which we live is basically saying, “Get going! Do something! Show you are able to make a difference! Don’t just sit there and wait!” For many people, waiting is an awful desert between where they are and where they want to go. And people do not like such a place. They want to get out of it by doing something. Source: Watch for the Light

1-31-21 Daily Prayer

Daily Prayer for January 31 Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch. Isaiah 62:1, NIV Lord our God, we worship you, for you come to meet us everywhere and you reveal your glory on our earth. May we become worthy of you, people who can represent you with our whole being. Give us the strength to endure, even through struggles and temptations. Be merciful to us at all times through Jesus Christ our Savior. May we remain body and soul in his hands, that at last we may come to you, our Father in heaven, as your true children, reborn through the Holy Spirit. Amen.

1-31-21 Today in the Word

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | THE "NEW-ER" YOU As we conclude our study, we hope you are encouraged to make a new start in Christ this year. As believers, we are given a new way to live and a new message to share. In Christ, we are given a new identity and a new future. Most importantly, we are transformed into a “new-er” version of ourselves. Paul concludes this message on newness, with a particular exhortation for those struggling with their new identity in Christ. In verse one, Paul contends that grace is in vain when Christians do not live in harmony with one another. He stresses that “now is the time” because of the redeeming and reconciliatory work Christ did on the cross. Paul made it a point to live his life with integrity so the gospel message would not be discredited. Nevertheless, people opposed him and were offended by his message (v. 3). But that never stopped him, nor should it deter Christians today. Paul lists a variety of difficulties he encountered while being an am...

1-31-21 Daily Devotion

January 31, 2021 Sunday Reflection: The Freedom to Fly To get the most out of this devotion, set aside time to read the Scripture referenced throughout. The flying trapeze is one of the most thrilling acts at the circus. With faces turned skyward, we watch with a sense of awe as fliers somersault, twist, and glide across the arena into the arms of a catcher, then return to their perch in triumph. What we don’t see are the hours of grueling practice. Trapeze artists need to build trust with one another, if they ever want to move together with grace and beauty. It is only through mutual submission that they are free to attain something greater than they ever could alone. Believers can experience a similar joy. Paul emphasized the importance of differences and gifts, describing us this way in 1 Corinthians 12:19-20: “If they were all one member, where would the body be? But now there are many members, but one body.” Yes, we are each uniquely designed. Yet in Christ, we discover our ful...

1-31-21 Stupidocrisy: Deprogramming

Daily Jot: Stupidocrisy: Deprogramming – Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com There are a lot of stupid things being done in this world by self-proclaimed smart people. We see it everyday. The lack of common sense, common decency and common manners has become, well, common. In fact, it is a phenomenon and when it becomes institutionalized, I would say it is Stupidocrisy. We especially see it in political leaders. We also see it in those who blindly follow conspiracy theories that are totally absurd just because they want to believe it is truth. Each week, The Daily Jot will try to pick out the most stupid thing of the week and call it what it is—stupid—in this new weekly feature, Stupidocrisy. Hopefully, it will give you a chuckle and a way to talk about these things with others. This week’s Stupidocrisy is about deprogramming. The left’s talking points this week on all their propaganda outlets (translated mainstream media) is pondering how to deprogram 74 million people who voted for Dona...

1-31-21 It's Like Magic

It’s Like Magic! Lockdowns Are Ending All Over America Just Days After Biden’s Inauguration… - by Michael Snyder - http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/its-like-magic-lockdowns-are-ending-all-over-america-just-days-after-bidens-inauguration/ Isn’t it amazing how all of the lockdowns can now be lifted now that Donald Trump is no longer president? It has been less than a week since Joe Biden was inaugurated, and COVID restrictions are being ended in Michigan, Chicago, California and New York. What an odd coincidence, eh? Now that Democrats are running everything, it turns out that there is no longer any need for such fear-based control mechanisms. At this point, we are being told that happy days are here again and that the next four years are going to be just great. Of course the economic devastation that was caused by all of the lockdowns is going to be with us for a while. The lockdowns permanently destroyed more than 100,000 small businesses, they plunged us into the worst economic do...

1-31-21 The King is Coming

The King is Coming :: By Daymond Duck Published on:  August 2, 2020  by  RRadmin7   Category: Daymond Duck ,  General Articles This article is different from what I usually write, but I decided to present some Scriptures and comments that will hopefully help readers understand the situation. I do have a reason for presenting these Scriptures. First , concerning the signs of His coming and the end of the age, Jesus said, “Learn a parable of the Fig Tree” (Matt. 24:32-35). There is wide agreement among prophecy teachers that the Fig Tree is Israel, and Jesus was saying, “Watch Israel” (Hos. 9:10; Jer. 24). Jesus was talking to His Jewish disciples when He revealed the parable of the Fig Tree, and this was before the Church and the New Testament came into being, so I want to examine a prophecy from the Old Testament. Second , the prophet Isaiah wrote ,  “For unto us a child is born [first coming], unto us a son is given: and the government shal...

1-31-21 The Makeover for Your Mind

Daily Devotion: The Makeover for Your Mind   - by Greg Laurie -  www.harvest.org   I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. -Psalm 119:11   Parents know that if they want to get a child to drop something, they need to offer something better in its place.   We can apply the same principle when sinful thoughts come our way. Scottish minster Thomas Chalmers called this, "the expulsive power of a new affection." This means that something is so powerful that it's more attractive to us than the other thing.   In other words, we push the old stuff out of our lives and say, "I don't want that garbage in my life anymore. I have something far better in its place, which is knowing God."   Remember, when Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness to turn stones into bread, Jesus responded, "No! The Scriptures say, 'People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God'" (Matt...

1-31-21 Israeli Flag Flown on the Temple Mount

The Israeli flag was flown on the Temple Mount: First time since the 1967 Six-Day War   - by Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz - www.breakingisraelnews.com   Thus said the lord of Hosts, the God of Yisrael: Mend your ways and your actions, and I will let you dwell in this place. Jeremiah 7:3 (The Israel BibleTM)   by Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz | Jul 31, 2020 | Jerusalem   A major step towards fixing the broken heart of the Jewish people on the Temple Mount was made on Tish B'Av, the day commemorating the destruction of the Temples: the Israeli flag was displayed for the first time since Israel conquered its holiest site in the 1967 Six-Day War.   Despite coronavirus restrictions and threats of Muslim violence, almost 1,000 Jews ascended to the Temple Mount on Tisha B'Av. Among them was Chaim Brosh, a leader of the Students for the Temple Mount organization. As he was waiting to enter the Temple Mount Compound, Brosh saw that some friends had an Israeli flag....

1-31-21 Fed Coin

FedCoin: A New Digital Dollar Scheme For Tyranny Coming Soon?  - RonPaul/Ron Paul Institute - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=4200   If some Congress members get their way, the Federal Reserve may soon be able to track many of your purchases in real time and share that information with government agencies. This is just one of the problems with the proposed "digital dollar" or "FedCoin."   FedCoin was initially included in the first coronavirus spending bill. While the proposal was dropped from the final version of the bill, there is still great interest in FedCoin on Capitol Hill. Some progressives have embraced FedCoin as a way to provide Americans with a "universal basic income."   Both the Senate Banking Committee and the House Financial Services Committee held hearings on FedCoin in June. This is the first step toward making FedCoin a reality.   FedCoin would not be an actual coin. Instead, it would be a ...

Rapture Ready End Times News 30 Jan 2021 Published on: January 30, 2021 by RRadmin7 China is trying to collect Americans’ DNA and more, fmr. US intel official says A former U.S. intelligence official warned this week that the world’s largest biotechnology firm, a Chinese company called BGI Group, is trying to collect Americans’ DNA for China, and could use the data to monopolize critical medical supplies. “This shows the nefarious mindset of the Communist Party of China, to take advantage of a worldwide crisis like COVID,” Evanina told CBS. “We put out an advisory to not only every American, but to hospitals, associations, and clinics. Knowing that BGI is a Chinese company, do we understand where that data’s going?” NBC News Covers the Biden Administration Welcome to a new era of selective scrutiny. Just like the old one. The Voice of Truth Mahatma Gandhi Truth alone will endure, all the rest will be swept away before the tide of time. I must continue to bear testimony to truth even if I am forsaken by all. 1-30-21 Daily Prayer

Daily Prayer for January 30 Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear. Isaiah 45:22-23, NIV Lord God, we kneel before you and worship you, for you do mighty deeds in heaven and on earth and allow us to become your children and your servants. You have done great things for many people, enabling them to serve you, and you will do still more. For you have promised that all our paths will be made straight. You have promised that all we do may be a service to you through Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, whom we follow. He will be revealed to the whole world, so that the nations will be called to serve you and your will may be done on earth as in heaven. Praised be your name, Lord our God! We open our hearts to you. In death and in life we are yours. Amen.

1-30-21 Today in the Word

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | OUR FOREVER HOME This past summer, my family moved from Texas to Indiana. We finally settled in after several long months of renovations. But even after we painted each room, filled the closets with our clothes, and hung décor on the walls, our new house didn’t feel like home until we were able to invite a few family and friends over for meals and holidays. Doing life together made all the months and hassle of renovations worthwhile. One day, all believers will reunite to live in the New Jerusalem. It will be unlike anything we have ever experienced (v. 2). This is the place Jesus has prepared for His followers, and its beauty will be unmatched (John 14:3). However, what will make our eternal future feel most like home is living in the presence of God (Rev. 21:3). What an amazing reunion that will be as we come face to face with our Savior. At last, we will be free from the emotional pain caused by sin and the curse (v. 4). From His throne, God declares, “I am maki...

1-30-21 Daily Devotion

January 30, 2021 The Danger of Error in the Church 2 Timothy 2:16-21 Ever since the beginning of church history, believers have been in a battle for the truth. That’s why, in today’s reading, Paul admonished Timothy to be faithful—not only in preaching God’s Word but also in refuting false doctrines. Both types of instruction are necessary for the health of a local congregation. False teaching … • Leads to further ungodliness (2 Timothy 2:16). A false teacher’s words may sound religious, but something counterfeit can never make a person righteous. Apart from the true Word of God (John 17:17), no one can grow in holiness. • Spreads like gangrene (2 Timothy 2:17). Once deceitful ideas infiltrate a church and are accepted by a few, contagion can ultimately make the entire congregation spiritually sick and prone to ignore the Spirit’s power. • Overthrows the faith of some (2 Timothy 2:18-19). The church as a whole loses effectiveness when individual members turn away from Christ to emb...

1-30-21 Anticipating Prophetic Cry

Nearing Midnight: Anticipating Prophetic Cry for Peace and Safety – Terry James - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ The single most prominent contribution, perhaps, in President Trump’s dealing with Israel involved deescalating movement toward war in the region. Despite outcries from every quarter when Mr. Trump officially declared Jerusalem Israel’s capital, then his ordering the American Embassy moved to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv, calm has prevailed. There has been lower temperature in the region rather than elevation of heated conflict. A big part of the success in keeping the potential for war at a relatively low level was the Trump administration’s reversal of the previous administration’s nuclear deal with Iran. The Iranian fanatic dictators—the Muslim ayatollahs—had their financial windfalls cut off abruptly by the “outsider candidate” that came to the presidency in January of 2017. The Obama administration had rewarded bad behavior and threats by doing t...

1-30-21 The COVID-19 Vaccine is Not the Mark, It's the Prep

Nearing Midnight: The COVID-19 Vaccine is Not the Mark; It’s the Prep to the Mark – Todd Strandberg - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ A lot of people have asked me if they should get the COVID-19 vaccine because they fear it might have some connection to the Mark of the Beast. The “mark” is not at all something that could be accidentally taken. The people who take it in the tribulation hour are doing so to show their allegiance to the Antichrist. I have watched several medical videos on the COVID-19 vaccine, and I think it is generally safe to take. The messenger RNA gets into your cells and makes copies of proteins that become the spikes on the virus. Immune cells create antibodies that will attach to the spikes, preventing the virus from entering into a host cell. Once the messenger RNA has sounded the alarm, it quickly breaks apart. Even though this vaccine was developed in record time, pharmaceutical companies have managed to cut corners by ingeniously si...

1-30-21 Good People Don't Go to Heaven

Image
GOOD PEOPLE DON’T GO TO HEAVEN  Leah Baugh   Friday, 31 July 20 Most people today think that in order to go to heaven, you have to be a good person. We have an inner instinct that says bad people deserve punishment and good people deserve reward. Like most Americans, we tend to self-evaluate and give ourselves the benefit of the doubt. “I haven’t committed a serious crime, so I must be a pretty good person” is one thing we might think. Especially if we have worked hard and have been successful up to this point in life, it’s easy for us to think that we have it all together—that we’ve dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s. During Jesus’ ministry, a rich young ruler thought this very thing. And as he was setting out on his journey, a man ran up and knelt before him and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. You know t...
