IDF Spokesman: Hamas is playing with fire
IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis warned Hamas on Thursday that its “only option is to stop the rocket fire,” and that the Israeli military will not tolerate anything less than “complete quiet” on its border with the Gaza Strip. “We’ve seen in the past three and a half years that Hamas, when it wants to, knows how to prevent rocket fire coming from Gaza,” Manelis said in an interview with Army Radio.

The IDF said the targets were training sites and weapons storage units. Earlier tonight, three rockets were fired into Israeli territory, as two rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome over the city of Sderot and a third fell in open territory in Eshkol Regional Council, causing no damage or injuries.

A suicide bomber has killed at least 18 police officers during a parade at a training centre in the Somali capital, Mogadishu. At least 15 other people were wounded, officials said. The bomber, disguised as a policeman, blew himself up at the General Kaahiye Police Academy. The militant Islamist group al-Shabab has said it carried out the attack.

MSF estimates more than 6,700 Rohingya killed in Myanmar
At least 6,700 Rohingya were killed in the month after violence broke out in Myanmar in August, Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) says. Based on surveys of refugees in Bangladesh, the number is much higher than Myanmar’s official figure of 400. MSF said it was “the clearest indication yet of the widespread violence” by Myanmar authorities.
