Not A Great Escape Story :: By Edwin Tan Published on: September 2, 2021 by RRadmin7 Category:General Articles “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). The key word in the above passage of Scripture is approved. It is the very essence of our Blessed Hope. We are accorded such a unique status primarily because of His grace and mercy, which we wholeheartedly embrace. This is clearly unlike those who reason otherwise and instead rely on their frail human faculties, which stem from the fallen nature. It is really not much of a big thing when we are labeled escapists by individuals who do not understand or, for that matter, shut their ears to another point of view. None of us fit the flimsy notion of a pack of people running scared and huddled in some corner, waiting to be extracted to safety. Far from it! To be a worthy worker of righteousness, nothing can ever be close to a slice of apple pie – more than ever in the days we live in. Challenges grow more pressurizing, as lawlessness shows no indication of abatement – especially so in the face of rampant apostasy. Standing firmly and unashamed of nothing but the truth risks rejection amidst rants of disapproval if not outright condemnation. At the point of writing, such a stance has indeed marginalized those who truly stick to unadulterated Holy Writ! In the face of all the trials and testings, a refined people are being prepared to do His work in the millennial kingdom. That is why the Rapture must take place before the Tribulation, as the selection process is made complete! Take heart, brothers and sisters in Jesus! As we witness the very things that will shape the post-Rapture period preceding Jacob’s Trouble, the finishing line is in plain sight. Loads of pressure have been soaked up by the remnant Church for the greater part of the year. The Master is pleased with His servants. Will He let all that hard work end up as damaged goods? Only the enemy can spin such a lie. “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing” (James 1:2-4). The truth of the matter is about our assignments just beginning to blossom. Once we shrug off the fallen nature and are adorned with a new body, we will be guided to our true eternal destiny. A glorious moment beyond our imagination, which will only require a split second! “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23). “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth” (Revelation 3:10).
