9-9-17 Sweet Words

As a child, I was raised in a Southern Baptist Church, Mount Calvary Baptist Church. I remember two things about the church that I loved. I loved the music and I loved the food. They sure had some ladies that could really cook fine food. I don't really remember what the pastor had to say that much but he was a fine godly man. I think that I kinda daydreamed during sermon part of the service. The music spoke to me then and it still does. I remember all the great old hymns especially the ones at the altar call. One of my favorites is Softly and Tenderly.

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me.
See, on the portals, He's waiting and watching;
Watching for you and for me.

Ye who are weary come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling;

O for the wonderful love He has promised,

Have you come home to Jesus yet? There's no better day than today. Today is the day of salvation. It may be your last chance to accept his free gift to you. I remember feeling sad at church when no one answered his call. I still have that same feeling today. Please don't turn your back on him.Jesus is softly and tenderly calling your name. I'm praying that you will open your heart and soul and answer his call. Peace to all.
